I always felt bad whenever Alistair wanted to kill Loghain. Especially when Loghain basically showed that he really did love Anora, and that she was never in any danger from him.

Unfortunately, I've yet to make a character who lets him live. I'm hoping to change that sometime soon.(Letting him live is a tad detrimental to the relationship with Alistair. And considering the two characters I've played through Origins with have both been involved with Alistair..)

It's on my to do list, along with finally romancing Zevran.

I know! I still haven't let him live and it's on my list of things to do. Maybe I can run one of my old saves to let him survive.

Zevran is on my list as well. I just keep hopping on the Alistair train.

Yeah. Letting him live just doesn't fit with the two characters I've made so far. One of them would go along with whatever Alistair wanted her to do, because she loves him. The other would be pissed off that he sheltered the monster that is Rendon Howe.

I should really play through as either my Dalish, or one of my Dwarven characters.

I bet  once people get over Nathaniel being Howe's son, fangirl threads will be popping up everywhere.

@Nhadalie - We know it's going to happen. They'll all be asking for him to be a romance option in the next game and to drop whoever they romanced. XD

I'm considering making a fem-Cousland just for Nathaniel. Actually, I sort of have one.. I'm not sure if I want to take Cerridwyn on as one of my actual characters though.

Im so confused.....it was never mentioned that Howe had any son other than Thomas.........now all of a sudden Nathaniel shows up and is suddenly the Howe son, and no Thomas to be found ........weird angle from Bioware .

Eh? It's not like the Couslands hated the Howes. Rendon Howe was the one who held a grudge against them. And sorry to say, he was a villain. If you play the Human Noble(I think you haven't) he pretty much admits he was just jealous of your family being the 2nd in the nation's royal hierarchy when he thought that should be his right.

Well, that was a bad call for him as the family patriarch. This will cost the Howes their entire bloodline, to be cauterized from the pedigrees of Ferelden dynasties and tossed onto the depths of history. All Howes will go by the hand of my character. Grey Wardens have no restriction on Vendettas.

I highly doubt it's a matter of Nathaniel not being so bright. He seems to be the oldest of Howe's children, and apparently looked up to his father as a role model.

1) People act differently towards their children than they do other people. It's quite likely that Nathaniel never really saw how Howe treated other people. Or if he did, he thought that his father and role model must have had a good reason for it. Everyone wants to think that someone they love is justified in how they act.

2) The role model thing. Children who look up to one of their parents will continue to think the best of that person, unless everything bad that their parents have done and the reasons they did them are shoved in the child's face. It's hopeful thinking, not idiocy.

Well it seems while Thomas is MIA at the moment, the daughter mentioned in the human noble male story is in fact there (according to the video anyway lol) does make me wonder if she really would show any interest in the HNM assuming she's not toooo upset over the whole "murdered your dad" thing, but pfffft why hold a grudge?

I really enjoyed this strip. Simple, but the writing is rock-solid and I feel like it revealed just enough to pull me into the game without actually spoiling anything. I found the art a bit lacking compared to some of their other strips, but it could be a stylistic choice by Gabe... he sure changes things up often enough.
