While I'm playing the game, at random my mouse and keyboard will stop working, but only in-game. They both work outside the game, but for some reason, or apparently for no reason at all, they just stop working in the middle of a game. Which mind youm is godly annoying, especially when I have to restart and re-do the tough fights over again. =___=
Any idea why the game is being so freaking tempermental? >_>
Um...Wtf?

Hmm might need a bit more info, like what brand and type of keyboard + mouse do you use? Are they wireless or corded? If they're corded do you rely on plug-and-play or have you installed drivers and/or software for them?

actually, I play on a laptop. I use a wireless mouse, but i couldn't tell you what brand. I got it from my bro's gf, and I've not hand any problems with it. Like i said, it randomly stops working in-game. Also, I didn't have to install any software for the mouse.

Hmm that's very strange. Since the keyboard is built into the laptop you'd expect at least that to work properly even if the mouse wouldn't. What brand laptop is it?
When you lose input from the keyboard and wireless mouse, have you tried seeing if there's any input from the touchpad? Also does the game itself continue to run normally and smoothly or are there signs of freezing, slowdowns and other stuff?
Right now the only explanation I can think of for you to lose input from both an inbuilt keyboard and an external mouse at the same time is if somehow the game loses focus without minimizing to the taskbar - in such a case it will seem like the game is still the main focus of your system so fights and cutscenes will continue as normal, but you just won't be able to do anything until you alt tab out.
When you do alt tab out are there any pop-ups, warning messages, any hints or signs that while you were playing a task popped up that demanded the full attention of your system but without minimizing the game?
If you can't find any clues as to what might be causing it, try shutting down as many background processes on your PC as possible. Just shut down anything that isn't crucial for the functioning and security of your system. You could also try temporarily turning off Windows Defender and your Antivirus program's realtime file-monitoring. Basically anything at all that could possibly interfere with your game being the full focus of your laptop while you're playing.

Is is possible that Dragon Age is just getting frozen temporarily? Does action continue in the game while you can't use your mouse and keyboard? If action is halted then you may just need to wait a bit for the game to unfreeze itself, or its a prelude to the game crashing.

nope. No warning messages. I have usually ctrl+alt+delete and have to restart the game. Like you said, the fight scenes and cutscenes will continue on as normal. I can still move the mouse and highlight enemies, corpses, dialogue options, etc and such, but it wont do anything when I click on it.
I have a hunch it has something to do with the patch I downloaded. 1.02, so I could install RtO, because I never had this problem before I installed the patch. Just a hunch. *shrugs*

Hunches can be valuable things. I would suggest reinstalling the game (make sure to back up your saves before uninstalling just in case) with patch version 1.01 and install all the DLC you had before except for RTO and continue from your latest save using Force Load - just use a new save slot after this when saving your progress.
If after reinstalling with the older patch you no longer have the keyboard/mouse input problem then I'd send a bug report to Bioware as it's almost certain to be something about the patch and/or the RTO dlc.

Sounds to me like you have too much running. Try closing down some processes that don't need to be running.

Can you give some specifications of your machine? Are you running on a laptop just like the OP or do you have a desktop PC? Do you have the latest patch (version 1.02) installed, or do you have an older version? Which OS are you using?

If you installed from the retail discs and you haven't downloaded / installed any patches manually then you're still on version 1.00. If you installed from Steam I think it automatically installs the latest patch available, so then you're on version 1.02 like the OP.
For other digital versions like EA/D2D I'm not sure, I think patches are supposed to be manual, but... well, I'm not sure.
It's an interesting coincidence that you're also on a laptop. What brand is it (Dell, Asus, etc)? If you could find out what model / type your laptop is that would be even better.
If the OP is still following this thread, what laptop brand / type do you use? If it's the same brand it could be a hardware specific problem. Or something to do with brand-specific software running on the laptop.
