They will have the better game device and drive a hummer.

In the very end it goes down to "does the game you like work?" If so, the platform is irrelevant. I´d still stick to a PC due to user-created mods and the use of mice (I cannot imagine playing Europa Universalis with a pad) but still, it´s just my choice.

For the part of the Hummer; pfeww, the amount of nice and and hand forged blades you can buy with that money is waaaaay too big to compensate. :D Once again, it´s just a personal choice.

Operative; these boards a like a bunch of little kids playing compared to the arguments between ArmaLites and AK´s respective fanboys on other boards.

I dont think I ever had the misfortune of arguing about which firearm does what it's meant to do better, weapons are weapons though, some people like the look of certain types, like some prefer the look of a modified M4 with optics and a grip, I myself have always been partial to anything Springfield has created, the m14 is something else, power, accuracy, range, easy to clean, easy to sight, just a remarkable weapon, but it's heavier than the m16s and m4s, and alot of people like less weight to carry. Preference is key.

The general point is that people get waaaaay too personal when discusing variants of the same thing. Argumets such as Camaros Vs Mustangs, ArmaLites Vs AK´s, electric heating Vs gas heating or leather fetish VS latex fetish and such are among the funniest discussions you can find in the net. Yet, you have a base to argue since we´re talking about stuff that is being made for similar purposes and with similar ideas in midn, is different enough
to give room for arguments. But over here the discussion is quite more ridiculous.

Let´s say that you want to play Dragon Age and then we start bashing each other because it´s better to do it in PC, Xbox, PS or in Sumerian clay tablets.
In this particular case things are even more ridiculous since we´re tallking about the SAME game, with the same content from the same creators.

Well, I´d go for PC just because it´s more user-friendly in terms of mods but that is something I value while many other gamers couldn´t care less. On the other hand, my laptop is far more confortable to travel with and I can do nice things like telling you all this crapp or listen to Black Sabbath while I do so. Once again, many users will not all the above as a plus and couldn´t care less.

Actually, I can play Dragon Age in an equaly full hd screen, with amazing 5.1 sound in no matter what platform so most of the rotten stuff thrown is just for the sake of "my manhood (other, more graphic term would be censoder) is bigger than yours!" Maaaan; elephants have bigger sexual organs and that does not make them better!

To me, the enjoyment is in sharing gaming experiences, preferences, views, and tips, and I see no rational grounds on being on the attack mode against others on matters of pure taste and preference on matter of platform. As Statulos stated, hey, it is still the same game.

I do not do console because I have decided that I will not want to purchase a separate platform just for gaming.

Also, I absolutely love my iMac in terms of looks and performance. My main lament is that I am forced to run Windows on it because games are not released for Mac.

I find any judgmentally normative or aggressive attitude either lack of maturity, savoir vivre or the fact that certain individuals just thrive on negativity.

This said: all Mac owners unite for increased game releases for Mac OS!! !! ! :)

I actually think EU would work quite well with a controller (it has a far less "intense" pace). Still, those are some great games.

usually its the immature of all ages that spout off about others choices. Frankly I care less what someone uses to play a game on,its just a game but some forget that. Its for entertainment purposes and means nothing so why take it personal. The world is full of people that think they're better than others and its usually those that are insecure or afraid of something. This is all my own opinion and not meant to upset or offend anyone because if your that easily offended then you require deep psychological help.

It's also lame and immature as well when somebody in this thread has gone into a "360" DA:O support forum thread when they are strictly PC and done what we've talked about elitist/biased/fanboyish people doing.
Now that there is immature as hell. If someone says in DA:O or ME2 general about a console issue or pc issue no big deal you stumbled in there and fire off a few rounds like an idiot, but when somebody deliberately goes into a forum they're free to go in but really have no business in their that concerns them then yeah you got issues you know?

I mean damn that'd be like going into a car dealership that sells a car you dont have or dont like, and just running your mouth, it's stupid, and it's sad.

I agree. Trolls like that should be lined up and shot: failing that, a ban should do the trick.

I admit, I can be a bit of a fanboy too though I try to avoid stirring things up unless I have to. I guess I draw the line between having a superiority complex and forcing that complex on others.

The only reason I like the PC better is that PC games can be made to be moddable where the console games don't really have a lot of options there. Though I have to say in a party atmosphere the console totally outshines anything you can do with a PC in that same situation. The only console I own is the original xbox and the only reason I have one is one christmas someone bought me the xbox version of Morrowind. I could not get my hands on a PC version at the time so I went out and bought the console so I could play that game. Since then I have bought the Steam version of Morrowind and now I can play it with mods! :)

I don't hate the consoles, i own a gaming rig and a ps3. I just hate the retarded fanboys on all sides(pc included) telling each other their machine sucks ass.

Yes, each machine has their pro and cons.

High end gaming PC's have stronger hardware, runs games at higher resolutions and higher framereates, upgradable, moddable etc etc
Downside is gaming PC's are expensive(not everyone can afford one) and much more prone to problems(crash, game freezing, game not starting etc etc) than consoles.

Consoles are much cheaper and imo more user friendly(i didn't have to build it from scratch like my pc) and cause less problems. Downside for me is not every game truly supports 1080p, any problem that happens to the hardware would mean that i cannot fix it myself unlike the pc.

I also prefer using the controller for racing games, Sports, GTA 4 and bought a console for exclusive games.

Both machines are good and have their pros and cons.

I think we all have a distaste for such attitudes. It's very sad people cant just game and be a community. There is a thread in a 360 tech forum on here for DA:O, in which a gamer spoke out about his frustration that even still there has only been one patch(which many dont even consider a patch) for 360, all it was for was Achievements and a bug RtO DLC caused, with so many other issues at hand for DA:O achievements should be the last thing on the agenda for fixing the bugs, many have experienced the horrid game save corruption bug, after this amount of time has passed nobody blames them for wanting to trade in or asking for a refund. Most of love the game we just want a damn patch already, it's a big game, and understandable not to have X amount of fixes already but none at all to date is pretty bad. I cant help but wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that a 3rd party(EDGE of Reality) handled the port from PC to console, and the company's credentials arent exactly promising(Over the Hedge, Incredible Hulk, The Sims PS2 which was really screwed up btw). Maybe it's something they jacked up to a point that it's making it more of a task than it should for BioWare to formulate a solution by now, nobody knows.

But why oh why would you as a PC gamer, who hasnt played DA for 360 go into that thread in that forum to act like an ass. And then when someone defends their platform of choice, insult them further by labeling them as having low intelligence, as though you're better(Elitist mentality) than them because they have DA for consoles? You know? If you play it for PC(which has had better support for bugs and patches and a mod community to tweak out some things) which would mean this certain problem with DEX in DA:O for consoles, that DOESNT effect you, why go in there period? If you feel the need to be an ass to make yourself feel better about yourself then wow, you need some form of help and support in your real life.

Bottom line is either game on and enjoy yourself, and be productive in a community, hell just be polite it really isnt that hard, imagine you're speaking to someone in person(if people did this that false sense of courage would be gone that enables their **** talking), if you cant do any of the above, play your game by yourself, treat your preferred platform like a pinup girl like it seems you already do, and just shut the hell up period.

This i can understand, i may defend my pc against other elitist but that doesn't mean we should be attacking other platform users. An idiot who plays on the PC is still an idiot if he plays on a PS3 or Xbox. We are all the same.

Honestly i have had similar experiences when gaming on the pc, such as the massive **** storm in the infinity ward forums when i constantly get attacked by 12 year old fanboys from the xbox section when i tried to discuss things civily.

Elitism on all sides should stop really because in the eyes of the general public, x360,ps3 and pc gamers are all lumped into the same group : gamers.

Yeah I have nothing to do with those forums anymore haha, friend of mine is or was rather a community mod there, recently got into it with Rob 402 from IW about lack of response to the community, that is afterall a part of Rob's job, anyways those forums are a mess.

Here aint so bad, but I dont get why things dont get ripped down when they escalate as I've seen them get on here before, I had made a comment long time ago about how Predator in an old upconvery dvd player looked the same as my bluray Predator, both seen on a 46" HD Bravia, this dude went crazy on me, and I think the whole debate was on 1080p not being an actual output on 360 when it actually is, long story short, guy went off, took the time to look at my profile, got a buddy of his in the thread, made a comment about
"LOOK OUT OPERATIVE USED TO BE A SOLDIER LOOK OUT", and you know, I didnt go in there saying anything about my history or personal life, what was that crap about. Even then I just asked the guy to chill, not to touch that part of my life you know, dont disrespect that part of my history.
The guy eventually said YEAH I'M AN ELITIST SO WHAT BLAH blah blah, screw you punk ass soldier etc you know, really? A bit over the top, and only at the peak of all of that did a mod get involved and shut it all down, told the dude to shut the **** up pretty much, and the guy went into other threads causing probs there too, I'm thinking why dont you just ban the guy already?

Those just BAM stick out amongst all the other crap.

My Taekwondo master is very strict about his students never denigrating another martial art.  He reminds us often, "There is no one martial art that is right for every person.  The only right martial art is the one that's right for you."  In fact, he augments our Taekwondo classes with some Hapkido moves (since Hapkido has some excellent self-defense techniques) and some kick-boxing for upper body strength training.

It's the same thing with PC/console versions of the game.  The only 'right' version of the game is the one that's right for you.  After trying out ME on the 360 for awhile, I decided to get the PC version and play it that way.  The 360 controls were driving me a little crazy, and I really like modding the game after I've done a playthrough at least once unmodded, but that's just me.  Others would find a 360 controller much easier to use than the keyboard or don't care about mods.  That's fine.

I think certain game genres play better on PCs and other genres play better on consoles. It still comes down to personal choice, however.  The only people who argue about that to the point of flaming are people who a. need to get off the forums and go back to playing games more and b. need to learn that life is too short to get hung up about something this unimportant.  If people want to hate me because of something as piddly as my choice of gaming system, they aren't people worth knowing in the first place.  I don't even bother to respond in those threads.

They really arent, that's why I cant see that this behavior carries over into their real lives, if they have em I mean, because who would want to hang out with someone that is in a constant state of telling you all your stuff sucks, "you want to hang out I got beer and some chicks from work coming over", "nah man I'm so over beer, and chicks suck bro, none of them compare to Liara Tsoni, and by the way you suck too, because you're not me". lol

Nobody is as vicious in their attack on a nerdy activity as someone who is a fan of a slight variation of that activity. It has always puzzled me why there is no geek solidarity. It is human nature to draw boundaries I suppose, but I would have thought all of us would be on the same side.

I am strictly a PC and pen and paper gamer. This is purely personal taste though. I poke at those who do not share my tastes but that is always in jest.

Honestly the absolute WORST kind of elitists ever are those MMA elitists, they make ps3,xbox and pc elitists look like mature adults in all honesty.

They insult anything, from bodybuilding, to gaming, to all kinds of people and even against other martial arts, i have seen comments like "MMA fighters would pawn bruce lee, TKD, muay thai and kung fu are all inferior to MMA" and even stuff like "Come challenge me in the ring, if i see you in real life i will whoop ya ass".

That´s soooooo easy to answer: meet Mr. Buckshot.
