I'm sure they're working out the details. Be patient. The helmet toggle will probably be in the first patch.

When BioWare people post dismissive responses on the forums telling you that something is as good as it will ever be, that means that they're about to improve it. I can't tell you why they do things that way, but they do.

yea the structure of the Bioware forums are kind of wierd, normally you see posting done by formal CM who generally have a specific assignment or tone their suppose to communicate.    Here, I think the QA moderators (is Stanley lead tester? ) and random developers are just allowed to post whenever they feel like it.

Bet that results in a lot of miscommunication :P

All I know is that if Chris Priestly says it'll be clear and sunny, you need to bring an umbrella, 'cause it's gonna rain.

As far as I am aware they aren't doing anything about the helmets. The company line seems to be "the suits were designed like this so tough luck". You just need to see Bioware's posts on patches they clearly state "a patch FIXES game bugs" they do not consider the helmets a bug.

All we can do is learn a lesson from this in that the DLC isn't worth it and don't get conned by it in the future. I know I won't be in such a hurry to "pre-order" next time.

I wouldn't count on a toggle being patched in ever. The best you'll probably get is the helmet slider in your armour locker. Even then I wouldn't count on it. The ME1 style toggle where you magically pull a helmet out of your ass though? Not in a million bloody years.

If you play as the sentinel, your shield magically disappears in coversations and magically appears afterwards...

I only use the N7 armour as I can mix and match. Like the OP, the other armours just sit in the closet.

do you think they just reads and laugh then? I mean BW gotta know this is annoying. Do you think they might release the armor w/out the helmet you know part it out like the N7? I was bumbed that I couldn't use Terminus or that cool cerberus armor ( cerberus would've made since, since they just rebuilt him) cause that dang fish bowl. Come BW, I believe you can adjust not "fix" this for us Massfans b4 ME3. BTW, my N7 armor is coolio all black w/ a little red cause a brotha, I mean "Hero" gotta look good! So no more fish bowls. BTW #2. What up with my fish dyin? "KELLY!"

Responses from developers on their forums is a luxury not many companies will offer.

I have more respect for development teams that will come out and say "that's the way we designed it, and like it or not that's the way it's gonna stay" than those that stay silent.

Oh right, because getting a free item for preordering a game we were going to buy anyways is totally getting conned.

Is that so? Well damn, that doesn't bode well for my two suggestion threads.

i agree with the people saying that Bioware's stance on the issue is an indicator that they are likely to fix it. When it's something they can't or don't intend to fix, they clam up and hope it goes away. By acknowledging the problem, it tells me they are brainstorming it.

They either ignore or lock every same-sex romance thread. No explanations or dialogue, just staying quiet until people stop talking about it. That is the bad sign you have to watch out for with Bioware.

I waited an extra day for my order to arrive, when I could've gone out and bought it at midnight, for an armor that I ended up not wearing on a single mission. I see his point.

I need to learn to speak Bioware and understand their culture.

What about the people who bought the collectors edition for the armour/weapon?

I didn't buy the ME2 CE for the armor and weapon, I bought it for the case, the extra art booklet, and the DVD, and because I don't mind shelling out a bit more money for a more complete product from one of my favorite game developers. The armor was simply another erroneous extra, that, while nice to have, I don't really use at all.

Who would buy the CE for the weapon and armor alone?

Huh... this makes me think back to the first Neverwinter Nights. The community demanding robes and cloaks... as a matter of fact it became a joke in the first expansion to the game. The devs were very, very illusive about saying much.

Shortly after the details for the second expansion were announced, boom. Robes added to the game.

Of course, this was for a PC only title, so there were no multiplatform issue to consider. Secondly, this was for a full fledged expansion to the game. The most ME2 will see are DLCs.

It could go either way. My only question is, will I still be playing ME2 by the time they do decide to release something to deal with the helmet issue?

Apparently quite a lot of people did. When Microsoft accidently put up all the ME2 DLC for free when the game came out, there were so many people whining
---
What's the point of buying the ME2 CE now?!!? Now a lot of people have it!!

I was lucky enough to get the Incisor Sniper rifle when that happened though :) :) ;)

I still don't understand why people don't just *not* wear a helmet. It's like saying you don't like how you look in a hat and then wearing a fedora to work every day.

Yeah, that doesn't work so well with the Blood Dragon or Terminus gear, but you don't HAVE to wear those, either.  There's nothing wrong with prioritizing between protection/dialogue when you're choosing your outfit
