If there is already a thread on this, Мої вибачення.

On my second playthrough, this time with a non-imported Shepard, I  went through Miranda's loyalty quest. I am playing as a paragon, but I missed the opportunity to LT and keep Miranda from shooting her old buddy who betrayed her. Everything else went smoothly.

My problem is, after doing Jack's loyalty quest, when she and Miranda have their blowup, I didn't get the option to Paragon my way out of the situation and ended up pissing off Miranda. She has gone back to Normal loyalty status. When I talk to her she blows me off. I can see the "Be the better woman" slot in my dialogue wheel, but it's greyed out. I am currently at 75% Paragon.

Does anyone know what percentage of Paragon I need to win her back? None of this was an issue for me in my first playthrough. Does it have to do with the fact that I am playing on Insanity this time?

From what I've heard, it's 80%.

Apparently, Insanity and NG+ both raise the requirements for Paragade responses.

*sigh* Just a little further...

So, is the 80% for Insanity or will it have to be even higher?

I still think the NG+ thing is a bug.

I can safely say that max is enough.

I save Jack's loyalty for last due to this.

These threads annoy me, they always seem to pop up whenever I'm on here. Not sure about the makeup thing or the "be the better woman" option,  no matter how high my scores were I never was able to. It's better to knock the fight out asap before the meter requirement gets too high.
Or rather, click here for the "keep it simple stupid" way of maintaining each of their loyalties. Read the "more info" section to know what exactly I did Posted Image

I think it is realistic....in a situation like this, it should be hard to maintain the loyalties of both...

I just told them my opinion is the only one that matters so take a cup of STFU!

But the first time I had to charm Miranda afterwards...I didn't have this issue though so it's odd.

If you play mostly paragade or renegon then you will have problems with this confrontation if you save it for later, which is why you should do it once you're over two bars in on either meter - if you're more pure paragon or pure renegade, you shouldn't have any problems at all.

The only missions I did before I was able to do this were:

- All four pre-horizon recruitment missions

- Zaeed's loyalty mission (I was also able to get the paragon option with him and kept him loyal when I was only just over one bar in)

- Thane's recruitment mission

- And of course Jack and Miranda's loyalty missions

THAT'S IT

No other side missions or anything else and I had less than 50% paragon when I successfully told the two to chill out. And yes, this was with an ME2 NG+ import, it isn't a bug.

I always play NG+, I always keep jack's loyalty last when I am totally maxed out in paragon (and I picked the champion specialization)...I never have a problem....from what I understand Zaeed, Miranda/Jack and Tali/Legion issues require a LOT of paragon/renegade status...like 80% but I never have a problem because I am maxed out by the time that happens

The further you go into the game the higher your paragon or renegade meters need to be in order to solve difficult arguments. The whole "you need this much in order to keep both Jack and Miranda's loyalty" is bullsh*t and has been proven wrong again and again.

I have to agree. If I don't get red/blue options when they confront me, I just go ahead and side with Miranda, and then make sure Jack dies in the final mission so there is no possibility of revenge/retribution.

I never get this problem with Tali/Legion because I usually expose Tali's dad during the trial and not get her loyalty. For some reason this causes the Tali/Legion confrontation to never happen.

and yes if you are maxed out when those arguments happen you KNOW you are going to pull through (unless a bug strikes)

Yes, it definitely scales with your level, so for NG+ where most people would be 30 when they encounter this, would be the hardest to do.

I think the whole Paragon/Renegade thing affecting which lines of dialogue are open is stupid. So, because your character is not constant jerk, or a stupidly righteous paladin, he/she is also poor speaker and can't confront people.
It really closes of some roleplaying options, especially with these loyalty issues.

It doesn't scale with level, in my video I posted I am a level 30 with a BG+ and I have less than 50% paragon and like 25% renegade. It scales with how far along you are with the storyline.

We keep hearing about people waiting until they have REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY high paragon or renegade scores and then they b*tch nonstop about how even with champion or inferno gear or the death mask (or a combination of the three) and they still can't play peacemaker and keep the loyalties. The one thing they have in common is that they waited until the end of the game to attempt the argument.

There is no bug, there is no glitch, it just scales with the storyline.

*Edit: it also doesn't scale with difficulty levels, that's insanity I'm playing on and it still works.

I am a high percentage Paragon, and I AM having this problem. I am sorry you are annoyed, but I can't seem to get Miranda's loyalty back. I am now at or above 80% and it still isn't working, so I am looking for help. I have only progressed past Horizon as far as the main quest goes.

As I said before, when I played with an imported character, I was able to Paragon my way out of the fight and no one was pissed. WTF.

Well the only dif I saw with ME1 imports is that they get a pretty big bonus to paragon or renegade meters depending on how you played, my main got a +190 paragon point bonus when I imported him from ME1 but if you do a NG+ with an ME2 import then you don't get a bonus to either par or ren.

I was never able to figure out how to get one of their loyalties back, ever. I was at 100% paragon and 100% renegade with two other characters and I still couldn't figure out how. I read somewhere that it is possible, a DEV confirmed it, but you just need a high score.

You did do Horizon, as far as the main quest goes, so you haven't gotten to the disabled collector ship yet. How many loyalty and recruitment quests have you done so far? You obviously did Miranda and Jack's, otherwise you wouldn't have gotten to the cutscene.

At the point of the scene I had
Miranda- Loyal
Jack- Loyal
Jacob-
Mordin-
Garrus-

I am guessing I was around 50% Paragon at that point.

Now I have also made Jacob, Garrus, and Mordin loyal
Recruited Grunt and made him loyal

So you were 100% and couldn't win her back? That doesn't bode well for me.

To resolve the Miranda and Jack fight all you have to do is

1. Be most Paragon ( in my case, I don't like being bad)

2. Do both of their loyality missions as soon as possible. I would do Miranda's first and as soon as Jack asks, then do hers. If you wait it will be harder to resolve the fight thus you won't have any options to resolve other than choosing someone to side with.

I did that. I had the fight and couldn't paragon my way out of it. Now Miranda is unloyal again and I can't use the paragon option to fix things.

The Jack/Miranda fight is actually easier to resolve as Renegade, while the Tali/Legion fight is easier to resolve as Paragon. Either one can be Charmed or Intimidated, but if you're using the "wrong" score then the difficulty is quite high.
Make sure you have 4 points in your class skill, with the 100% Paragon/Renegade evolution (usually one evolution only gives 70% so be careful), and wear the Death Mask (you buy it in a store on Tuchanka). If that still isn't enough then you will need to accrue more points and try again.

Edit: actually I don't think the Death Mask helps, because it's on board ship and Shep isn't wearing his armor.  So never mind that part.
