Ugh, damn fanboy wars. Why cant people just accept that some like PC some like consoles, some out of necessity some out of whatever.

I am a PC gamer and hate exclusive titles, stripping away PC games potential to fit the console market but on the other hand the hardware requirements sink. I do not begrudge console gamers their opinion and it is financially a better choice in the end. But arguments like keyboard or controller is all about the user and not a universal truth, I gave up shooting with a controller long ago but that does not mean controllers suck, they just aernt intuitive for me. PC gamers usually are forced to do alot more to get things to work however, and that´s the price we pay for being able to tailor our games and enjoy better and smoother visuals.

But the argument about couch, tv/monitor whatever always makes me snicker. For 2 years I´ve been gaming from my couch on a HDTV with 5.1 surround sound with my computer, but I cant expect everyone to invest as much as I have chosen in entertainment.

Arguing is futile!

I agree.   However, a PC is meant for many things.  Having to hook it up whenever I want to use my laptop or desktop is just troublesome.  Consoles are meant purely for gaming with a side of other entertainment.... PC's are meant for work, email, chat, games, etc.....  even sitting on the couch using a wireless keyboard/mouse you need to have something to lean on..... as opposed to just chillaxxin back with a controller.    I hook my laptop up to my hdtv from time to time.... but not that often even though it's just a matter of plugging in via hdmi, however it's not really worth it unless I can sit there with a controller.  Most bioware games don't have controller support for the PC.... I don't know why, they should being 360 and PS3 gamers can use a keyboard/mouse if it makes them happy and many PC games allow you to just plug a 360 controller right in.

It all comes down to preference.   I buy PC games for mods when I want more of the game... or if it's exclusive (which is rare, but take Crysis and the Witcher for example.. well at least as of now they still are).   However, Microsoft is really good at getting "preferential" treatment for XBox Live subscribers.. so many exclusivities fall their way..... and even the other two current consoles (Wii, PS3) have some good exclusives.  At the end of the day, whatever makes you happy.... I just choose which platform I want that particular game for based on a number of things (obviously it's always more expensive to buy it for the 360 or PS3, only about a ten dollar difference but still).... but it seems it's been increasingly leaning towards 360 over the last few years.  M$ would own Cerberus.  lol, but at least they take good care of their customers (from my experiences any way).

OK so I'm a stupid no clue kinda guy and have zero knowledge on how to alter any file at all in these pc games.

So......can anyone post a run through on how to actually go about altering the file?

PLZ?

ON TOPIC
I've gotta test those casual outfits. I just hope armor pieces will come soon.

fixed  =)    Nowadays, there's no definite as to what's better, it's about preference that's why any real gamer who actually has a job to buy their own way.... should own each of the the current gen consoles and also a gaming desktop and/or laptop... they aren't expensive any more, I remember when it used to cost me a few grand for one.... now it's fairly cheap and the technology is way ahead of what the games are doing so you got a good few years before you need to upgrade IF you purchase something that's top of the line at the time of purchase (or build your own, whichever.. it used to be much better to build your own now it's so much more inexpensive it doesn't even matter in terms of quality vs price).

Soon there will be no more "pc/console" gaming... it will be one in the same, just console will be a pure entertainment machine with a side of personal stuff.. while PC's will still be for work, school, etc... as well.

The next gen consoles aren't too far off.. maybe a few years or less and I'm sure they will have seriously progressed even more.

or you can just get some mods, I've seen better already.... google mass effect 2 mods and you should find some sites, I don't know what the rules are to linking to them so I'm not gonna bother.  I've also seen nude mods for a few of the characters, so you could have part of your female crew and encounters chillin nude... just like they had for ME1.  Although it is just a video game, so there's not much point to it... but if you're that into clothing then there you have it.

Yes, coming from someone who is unbiased about systems, being I own them all not to mention a gaming laptop and desktop that can handle Crysis like butter.... yes the keyboard/mouse is very basic.. but it is not as good for RPG's... for FPS games it depends on the person using the controller.  Keyboard/mouse any little kid can pick up and learn no problem, it takes more time to master the controller but when you do, it pays off.

If you'd like to see the only official controller vs keyboard/mouse 1v1 in a game, it was for Halo PC (pro gamer with a 360 controller plugged into a PC vs another pro gamer using a keyboard/mouse.... held by IGN here is the link:

http://insider.ign.c...660/660505.html

If you don't have ign insider, you can still read the results in bold.  The pro gamer with the controller mopped the floor with the pro gamer with the keyboard/mouse.   Take it from someone who competes on the 360, PS3, and PC  =)   most 360 gamers were hardcore PC gamers who have rolled with the changes....  more casual gamers are on the wii & ps3.  Of course each platform has it's own fair share, I'm just saying most.

It's all about preference at the end of the day... but my reasons are clear as to why I choose 360 over PC, but why I still many times will buy it for the PC as well (just for the mods when I'm done with the regular game itself and all of the dlc and am left still wanting to play more.. otherwise I just move onto one of the other 78979877777 amazing games that are out there these days and coming out sooner more often than not nowadays).

One example is not enough evidence to cast judgement.

Having played halo on the PC as well Xbox, I'm rather unsuprised the Console gamer won. Interesting anlysis, however I'd be inclined to take it seriously if it was Unreal or Quake played with multiple players. I've seen PC gamers do things that that I have yet to see repeated on a controller.

PC gaming won't go anywhere since you need PC to make games these days.

Agreed, although makes you wonder, why did they not make some of the 'non-buggy' ones available if they are there?

Before anyone responds with the standard "Because EA is a cash-cow and will want people to pay for a DLC that will unlock it." I'll respond to that with a simple, bit hard for them to do that now seeing as to some extent it is already available free (for some folk).

It would be cool if we could have most of those that weren't buggy. specially the more casual rather than formal types. But also the original ME type ones too.

Whilst I do have the PC version I'm just going to wait to see if they do unlock some of this stuff officially.

Well, if these outfits already exist and are designed, then they should be ready to go for DLC in the near future, right? We'll see if BioWare releases a Casual Clothing store on the Citadel, or just releases these as a bundle package for us XBOX users (the majority percentage of ME2 players, remember).

This .ini is pretty damned cool.

I love mods.

Do NOT feed the console/PC war. We all like what we like, NOW BE QUIET ABOUT IT. ZIP IT. ENOUGH.

Major kudos to the creator of the .ini

I hope someone does armors etc. That would totally rock.

Thanks again,

I follow a simple formula there...

Beat 'em Up Games, Racing Games, Hack'n'Slay Games (Ninja Gaiden for example) -----> Console

RPGs, Shooters, Strategy Games -----> PC

And yes, I am still hoping for Metal Gear Solid 4 on PC =/

Eh, I disagree.  I've owned PC's since the IBM XT and games and entertainment were always the main use of the machines, in fact it's how they became marketable and sold outside of businesses.  The only real edge consoles have are local multiplayer games with friends.

I waver back and forth between PC and console... Consoles are always better than PC when they're in their first couple years simply because you get a bargain on state of the art hardware, but PC tech always ends up outpacing it both in terms of hardware and software (digital distribution of games and massive online games being the latest example).

I get the console versions of the game for the best experience (controller > keyboard mouse for RPG any day of the week, not to mention a 14-22" monitor is nothing compared to my 600hz refresh rate huge hdtv and a computer chair can't compare to my couch or bed, depending on which room I'm gaming in).

I buy the PC versions of the same games, when enough mods justify it. It worked with KoTOR 1 & 2 because they needed more content, especially KoTOR 2 (it was unfinished so they had that project to complete it).

Plain and simple. I'm appreciative I have the best of both worlds, however if I had to choose one place to play this game... it would be on my 360 with my huge hdtv and the 360 controller works great for Bioware rpg's. Using xpadder and controlmk to map your keys and mouse to your controller is full of fail for rpg's, it doesn't work right bcuz the HUD is almost always different.

Nice find, however the female nude mods are much better haha.

LOL, are you serious ?

Yes.  =)

and yet you can hook your PC up to a big screen HDTV and plug in a 360 controller....why gimp yourself by using a console?

and controller better then keyboard/mouse? LOL....ok
