Not going to spoil any plots or anything, but is there a way to skip the starting sequence and the darkspawn battle?

I've gotten fairly far into the game and I had to restart due to heavy modding, but I can't bear to put myself through the start again.

Help?

I think the very very first time you gotta suffer the videos before character creation, but after that you can press esc on PC, B on 360, or idfk on the ps3 to skip movies or to end a dialog line early.

Thanks, unfortunately there is currently no mod that can just move me ahead in the plot. Looks like I'm going to be suffering the walk around in the same place because you downloaded a mod curse.

:(

Edit: To the guy above, I wasn't talking about intro movies, I'm talking about the actual plot. I've played through it already and wouldn't like to do so again.

Huh? As in the actual plot the game follows? As in the actual game?

edit: You realize that there are several different origins, right? You can't remove/skip the actual plot other than the cutscenes/dialogue...

Let me explain thoroughly, this includes spoilers.

I have gotten to the point where I have united half of fereldan, yes, in the actual game.

I downloaded several amazing mods, to find that half of them don't work unless I actually start a new game - go figure.

I don't want to play the introduction gameplay, ie, Cousland family vs Howe then darkspawn battle.

I can find no way to skip this.

I've already done this gameplay 6 times now and I find that I can't do it anymore because it's just dry listening and doing the same crap again. I'm not skipping "the whole game" just a part that I've done countless times.

Uninstall? You should read the supporting documentation for mods before installing them. The plot is kind of integral to the game.

edit note: must stop editing!

Are you being serious? I like this game.. I think that you just don't understand, and I really can't be assed trying to explain this again when I've already went into detail.

I've played through the start around six times now, seven if you include the one I'm currently doing.

I had to start a new game, as part of a mod, and all that I am asking for is a way to skip the start because I've already done it SIX times. Are we clear, or are we still tripping in what appears to be my horrible writing skills?

I hear you! The origins and Ostagar are fine and all, but they don't really have any unique choices as such. If you've played the Magi origin once, you're not gonna see anything new the second time around.

Being able to design my character and then just get thrown into Lothering would be a godsend.

Or at the very least, play through an Origin, and then just skip Ostagar. The game's fun and all, but it takes FOREVER to get going.

I thought Oblivion's tutorial dungeon was bad enough, but the 2-odd hours it takes for Dragon Age's plot to start.... excruciating.

Why stop skipping stuff after Ostagar? I don't see why Lothering is a better starting point. You've seen that too.

Yes but from Lothering you can just go out into the world and start exploring the different places. From the set startings your are forced into doing the same thing with a different face. And let us not forget that this usually takes anywhere from 1-2 1/2 hours.

I'm sorry but I don't fancy doing the same thing for a seventh time. There isn't even any events that change if you choose different dialogue options.

I really dont see why your all busting his chops about it. You enjoy the game the way you play, to skip the intro is completely rational, that the intro happens to be one of my favorite parts *weird as hell i know* doesn't affect me thinking he is entitled to seek and find a way to skip it. I'm currently looking for something similar because my landsmeet is busted but, I guess the question is... why are you all acting so elitist and superior just because this guy finds the intro to be zZz.

Ostagar.. there are no ending changes of your actions at Ostagar. Regardless of what toon you role or what actions you make, there are no changes to your ending. Basically its there as the foundation of the story... for those of us that have played through it several times with different origins... we could do without have to play it over and over. As for the rest of the game... I wouldn't skip because there are important decisions made that will effect the outcome of your story line. Thus this man's request to find a mod allowing him to skip Ostagar is not an unreasonable one.

In fact I am looking for the very same mod. :) I do have Skip the Fade for the very same reasons. It gives you all the Codex and Xp from the maze, but it doesn't skip your companions or the last fight. So after completing the fade maze so many times, this mod was a relief... had the damn maze memorized too. Grrrrrr

Just my 2 cents though. If anyone does create/find a mod to skip Ostagar, it would be appreciated without a doubt!

Skip Ostagar: http://social.biowar...m/project/3407/

just in case there were some that were still looking for this. :)

Edit: on that note.. i wouldn`t mind something like, Skip Intro and Ostagar in the same style. (Very tired of doing the dalish origin all over again for the N`theenth time)

I used 'Skip Ostagar' some time ago and I do believe there were some very strange Talents/Spells chosen for The Warden, Alistair and Morrigan.

Lol what ?

Why'd you necro a thread that's almost 4 years old, and is against the rules.

Well, my post was in response to Lethallin's.  Lethallin's post clearly states that it's just in case someone is still looking for the answer to this question.

The DAO forums are virtually dead these days.  What difference does it make whether people are posting in old threads or not?

Have you played the other origins? Human Noble is not the only option :D
