The adrenaline of the moment makes wonders. If Grunt were on Shepard's situation, and viceversa, he'd have sent Shepard flying away directly back to the Normandy :D

Whoops, all I saw was "wrestling competition", didn't see the arm part... well, let's see.

1. Grunt
2. Legion
3. Miranda
4. Zaeed
5. Jacob
6. Garrus
7. Thane
8. Samara
9. Jack
10. Mordin
11. Tali
*12. Shepard

* = Is smart enough to know that arm wrestling causes wear and tear to your elbows. After being killed once already, he/she fully plans on trying to keep this body as long as possible and thus will not compete.

1. Grunt (Perfect Krogan says it all realy)

2. Zaeed (Naturaly strong yes, but he would also likely shoot you in the groin from under the table if he starts loosing so that puts him higher up the list)

3. Shepard (It's Shepard, aka Chuck Norris in space)

Read the Koragan Bloodrage codex entry. Korgans already have a heightened adrenalin response and Grunt couldn't even save himself. :P

Strength wise this is how I'd rank them:

1. Grunt, Legion

2. Jacob, Garrus, Zaeed

3. Thane

4. Miranda and Mordin

5. Jack, Tali, Samara

Miranda said something about her strength being enhanced but that could mean anything. She may be only strong compared to the average woman but relatively not that strong compared to an average man.

How in any way could Jacob and Garrus even compete with Shepard?

The Top: Grunt, Shepard (because Shepard, as the PC, has a lot of extra jam going for him.)

Close to the Top: Legion. He is a robot, but he's more of a sinewy, infiltrator top. Jacob is also built like a a bodybuilder, so he's probably the strongest human besides Shepard. Maybe on par with Garrus.

Middle: Thane (don't see much evidence for Drell Strength), Miranda (genetic enhancements as others have said, but she just doesn't have muscle mass), Zaeed (maybe a little above these other two, he seems to run around with a ****-ton of gear with no problems.)

Below Middle: Samara, Jack. Both have evidence to be strong, but seem to rely heavily on biotics. (Have we ever run into a 'physical' Asari?) It's easy to see why there's a lot of disparity where they're ranked.

Bottom: Tali, Mordin. Not physically tough at all.

Grunt

Shepard

Garrus

Legion.

I don't care about naming the rest. Tali is probably near the bottom with Mordin.

Shep wins, he lifts I-beams like they were styrofoam, that heavy muscle weave cyber upgrade wasn't for nothing.

So is Zaaed, and Shepard can clean his clock if you're a paragon.

Shepard is easily stronger than any of 'em, with the exception of probably Grunt.

1. Grunt

2. Shepard

3. Jacob

4. Zaeed

5. Garrus

6. Legion

7. Thane

8. Miranda (Why are people putting her lower than other females? She's genetically enhanced to be physically stronger.)

9. Samara

10. Mordin

11. Jack

12. Tali

I don't see how Shepard loses to anyone besides possibly Grunt. If you use his melee attack even a little in ME2 you'll notice the sheer damage it does - I'm talking as much damage as a point-black shot with the shotgun if you have the melee shoulders. I don't know whether it's the cybernetics in Shepard or what - in fact I'd hazard a guess that's the case - but he has unnatural strength.

Also, people are putting Legion at the top because they assume that being a machine means he'll be incredibly strong. However, this isn't Terminator and have you actually melee'd a Geth in ME2? They're like paper, they take more damage from melee than a normal human merc and in fact my Shepard two shots them without Shields and three shots them with. They might be fairly strong but I don't see Legion being at the top.

I bet both my reproductive organs that you've never step into a gym in your life :D

Tearing apart your elbow' muscles (and biceps, and whatever other muscle of your body) with weights and letting them rebuild themselves with appropiate rest + tons of proteins and carbohydrates is the way to both strenghten them and boost muscular mass. It's basic info for all who have put a step into a gym anytime.

if anyone thinks jack would be good at arm wrestling because of biotics, should rethink their assumptions. a soldier has the best melle, when really a biotic should. so youd think a soldier would be the best arm wrestler. but youd be wrong. its tali. she gets her strength from her hips. its all about the base strength. and shes got one hell of a base.

i wonder if this topic will lead to adepts having the best melee in ME3.

What order do you think they'd come out? I imagine it would turn out like this:

1. Grunt
2.  Legion
3. Garrus
4. Jacob
5. Shepard
6. Zaeed
7. Thane
8. Samara
9. Miranda
10. Mordin
11. Tali
12. Jack

After some reconsideration, I have decided to revise my list a bit.

1. Grunt - HE IS KROGAN!

2. Shepard - Numerous augmentations. Seeing him strap that 90lbs sniper rifle behind his back with one hand is pretty impressive!

3. Legion - He's a machine, and his arms are actually pretty bulky when you look at them.  He also handles the Widow with ease.

4. Garrus - I assume the average turian is a bit stronger than the average human.

5. Jacob - Look at his romance scene, the guy's a monster!

6. Zaeed - He's got some pretty large biceps, but he's also a bit old.

7. Thane - He doesn't seem very bulky, although I have a feeling that Drell are fairly strong "pound for pound"

8. Miranda - Superior genes, but  I doubt her upper body strength is more than an average male's.

9. Samara - She's been in a lot of fights, so she's probably not too bad.

10. Mordin - He's a Salarian. An old Salarian.

11. Tali - Even with the suit, she's got pretty thin arms. But she's a machinist, so her hands and arms have likely been given some workouts.

12. Jack - Not using biotics of course. She's the smallest, and probably has never had to do much physical work thanks to her biotics.

Joker would win.

Yeah, I know, the brittle bones and all.  But what he does is, he tries to take his hat and turn it around, and it's like a switch that goes on.  And when the switch goes on, he feels like... another person.  Like a truck, a machine.

(Man, NOBODY is going to get that.)

joker winning? That's a little........over the top.

1. Grunt - ... Duh.

2. Legion - I imagine he might give Grunt a run for his money. Legion is built like a tank, but Grunt looks like he could take out a few tanks...

3. ManShep - He's is not savior of the universe for nothing! This may be the 'Shep is awesome at everything' trope talking, but I can't imagine too many of them beating him.

4. Zaeed - The guy's packing some serious guns! Despite being old, he obviously hasn't slowed down any. Seriously, the guy is in peak physical condition.

5. Garrus - I almost put him right after Legion, but it looks to me like a lot of turian strength is in the legs. He might beat Shepard in hand-to-hand with those sharp claws, but they're useless in the arm wrestling arena.

6. FemShep - I've always thought FemShep should be more muscular, more of an athletic build. I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt by placing her so high, but those twiggy arms of hers don't look very tough. More muscles for FemShep please, BioWare! Just a little definition would go a long way...

7. Jack - Girl has muscles (may be the only one that does). She also has fight in her.

8. Jacob - Meh, his arms aren't that big. I think he spends all of his exercise time working on those abs.

9. Thane - Maybe it's the reptile thing, but I just don't see him being particularly strong as much as flexible.

10. Samara - Asari are soft, Grunt said it himself. Still, she -is- a warrior of a sort, which is the only reason she isn't further down the list.

11. Tali - I don't think the suit does anything for strength, or if it does, not enough. She just doesn't strike me as particularly tough.

12. Miranda - Genes or not, Miranda does not look tough at all. She lets her biotics do all the fighting and she doesn't seem to have any muscle tone.

13. Mordin - ... Yeah, no way he'd beat any of 'em.

In the bad ending, Joker lifts that same I-beam. So it must have been made out of styrofoam.

Anyways, here's my list;

1.) Grunt. Perfect Krogan. Nothing else really needs to be explained.

2.) Legion. It's a machine. It has a big advantage over organics becuase of that. But I'm not sure that can compete with a pure Krogan.

3.) Zaeed/Jacob/Garrus. Not sure which of them is stronger. Jacob could win due to biotics, but I'm not counting those.

6.) Thane. Trained most of his life to be an assassin, so obviously he's pretty fit. Of course not all of that transmits into sheer arm strength.

7.) Miranda. Has reliance on bioitcs, but not as heavily as the other squadmates.

8.) Samara. Is a Justicar, but they have a large reliance on biotics.

9.) Mordin/Jack. Jack relies on biotics. Mordin is an old Salarian but he did serve in the SSTG, so he might have enough physical strength to beat Jack.

11.) Tali. A Quarian who has spent most of her life working as a mechanic. If this competition was about fixing something, she would do well. But it's not.

Am I the only one who thinks three fingers vs five fingers is a disadvantage in arm wrestling? I would put Shep at the top of the list because of that.

Grunt, Shepard, and Legion have to be among the top three in strength considering those 3 are the only ones who can wield the Claymore Shotgun and/or the Widow Rifle without breaking an arm. The kick from those two weapons would tear the limbs off of Jacob, Garrus, Thane and the rest.

How can you guys rate Garrus or Thane over Zaeed and Jacob? This isn't a popularity contest, looking at their arms its clear Zaeed and Jacob should come 2nd and 3rd after Grunt.
