1. grunt,    remember when that tank bred krogan picked up that 2 ton steel door...enough said ther.

2. legion,  hydrolics

3. Garus,  remember when grunt "says turians are tough and u need to use a blade but whats the point." also he  slams Harkin around like a rag doll

4. Thane,  neck break ease and he punched a guy out by hitting him in the hard suit? that counts for something.

5. Male Shepard,  he also punches out a turina in full armor..right in the gut too,  female shepard finishes last btw, and i dont wana hear she punches out the same guy either thats just dumb.

6. Jacob,  he works out apparently, but dosent have the cybenatic implants of male shepard or something like that.

7.  Zaeed, buff and salarians a weaklings [see below]

8.  Mordin,  hes tall and has decent size for a salarian

9. Jack, shes kinda buff if u look closley and wirey aswell

10. Tali, grunt says Quarians are tough also

11.  Samara,  i got nothin, i like her more then Miranda

11.5.  Morinth, ^

12.  Miranda,  kinda soft

13.  Female Shepard,  I hate her

I didnt include biotics, obviously anyone with them would beat anyone without em.

I am not sure who would win. Garrus has reach, femShep has flexibility, might need to skip to the tiebreaker. :P

1. Grunt. 2. Legion. 3. Garrus or Shep. rest dont matter.

There are no hydraulics on Legion's body.

First of all, how can anyone rate Zaeed higher than Jacob. Jacob is ridiculously swole AND he's at least 10 years younger than Zaeed. Jacob's clearly the 2nd strongest human after Male Shep. Male Shep only wins out because of his extensive cybernetics.

Also, folks rating Thane high because of his neck-snapping ease need to cut that **** out. In the Mass Effect universe, humans have escpecially brittle vertibrae. In Miranda's loyalty mission, my Shephard snapped the neck of a powerfully built Eclipse Merc like it was a pretzel.

Yeah I don't think Geth (troopers anyway) use hydrolics, looks like they use that synthetic muscle for all their movements.

Anyway, Legion is actually pretty bulky, and the fact that he uses the Widow shows he's got a decent amount of power, that thing weighs about 90 lbs, and has major kick.

While on the subject , I did grunt's recruitment mission with Legion (via that PC version modification), and when the imperfect Krogan throws that huge steel door to the side, Legion said something along the lines of "Is this a heavy labor model?" :D

Hydrolics are massively powerful and efficient.  Its unreasonable to think they dont use them in some form.

That rifle point is a good one 2 the Krogan has claymore shot gun and Legion has the special riffle. Neither can be weilded by a human.

Just because the geth dont seem very strong dosent mean they arent,  they just may not be very quick or agile and unable to use their strenght in a burst like fashion, u know cuz their made of metal and HYDROLICS and stuff...theres a difference.

after the neck snap he punches out a guy by hitting his armor, maybe a bad choice of editing, but its in the gamePosted Image

That was clearly a "throat punch."
This Thane stuff is bizzare. Thane is a sleek Ninja.  Nothing in the game even suggests that he's escpecially strong.   I bet he even has a poor "hold the line" score.

If there was an arm wrestling competition of the Normandy . . . I don't think it would last long because everyone would cheat.

Zaeed. Grunt and Legion may be stronger, But Legion lacks viciousness and Grunt lacks brains.

Zaeed looks waaaaay stronger/tougher than Jacob. Yes, Jacob has some muscles, but he'll probably complain about his wrist hurting and lose the arm wrestle. It took 6 men to hold down Zaeed as he was shot in the face, which he STILL survived ;)

1) Grunt - Genetically perfect Alpha-Krogan, enough said really.

2) Legion - As a synthetic, his muscles are probably made from a material far stronger than organic tissue.

3) Shepard - Extensive cybernetics. Hardened marine.

4) Garrus - Turian physiology seems stronger than human.

5) Jacob - Ripped. Relatively young soldier.

6) Zaeed - Strong, hardened, but his age loses him a few points compared to Jacob.

7) Miranda - Genetically modified for enhanced strength, lifespan, etc. The strongest of the women (except FemShep).

8) Thane - Assassin, used to stealth tactics, not brawn. However, he is proficient in martial arts which probably keeps him in good shape. I imagine he keeps himself at the peak of physical fitness.

9) Samara - Her training is mainly in biotics and firearms, but like Thane I expect she knows martial arts as well.

10) Jack - Slender frame, not much muscle. Would probably make up for it in aggression.

11) Tali - Tali's a thinker, not a fighter.

12) Mordin - Salarian physiology is physically weak.

to those who say Jack wouldn't do well, remember 2 things

A. shes a crazy *****

B. remember when you first see her, she breaks out of iron clamps, thick iron ones meant to keep people down at that, with her physical strength alone, i didn't see her use her biotics then, not until she went ape **** on the mechs.

A few things most people seem to have forgot

a)Garrus tosses Harkin around like a rag doll

b)As said above, Jack manages to pull off Iron clamps. Blame adrenalin if you must.

c)Whilst I agree Legion's synthetic nature and ability to use the widow showcases his strength, a husk knocked Legion out/disabled Legion fairly easily.

Husks use electrical discharges, no crap they knocked out Legion.  Dosent mean anything really.

And we didnt see everyone try their shot at the iron cuff things anyway flawed argument.

Not to deny Legion's obvious strength but I doubt he's using hydraulics. Hydraulics are strong, true, but they are also slower than myoelectric contraction which means a mechanical shovel may move tons of rock but cannot swat a fly... Pretty useless in combat. Myofiber, synthetic or natural, may be weaker but allows quicker reflexes.

Hydraulics heat up really fast too, often requiring a large reservoir of hydraulic fluid (easy to see if you pop the hood of any type of moder day construction equipment). It's bulky, slow and that's why 21st century soldiers are not all wearing hydraulic exoskeletons or power armor.Posted Image

Ya comparing 21 centrury tech with nearly 23rd century sapient machine tech will get me to see your point everytime.Posted Image

But were getting of topic, I included the syntho muscle from the get go, that alone gives Legion great strength.

hmm i got an interesting find from another thread about Harbringer's lines, more specifically about quarians. Seams like they know more than we do about our alien friends. ^_^

As for Thane being low on people's lists...Drell muscles are denser than human muscles, and seemingly denser than Turian etc. Also, you know, he kind of punched that merc out in the cinematic mission. Through armor.
