Only the bigwigs of BioWare and those at EA will actually know what, if anything has been done to change the way BioWare makes games. A lot of people seem to think the changes to Mass Effect 2 was from pressure by EA. I’m sure some even expected to see an EA logo in the actual game someplace.

And all of them got the axe after releasing remarkably different games.
If there were an analogy for EA, it would be the Borg from Star Trek. Exact same modus operandi, same droning voice.

Just look a the romance In ME1 it was revolutionary
In DA:O and ME2 it comes with lame excuses and is practically none existent. The dialogs in ME2
in are a one way track to the bed on the contrary in the ME1 they had
much more substance.

As for EA buying Bioware, I usually say "Bioware has joined Cerberus". They're given lots of resources now... But just wait until the claws dig in.

What I consider bad in EA is the policy towards players. On one hand they want them to buy the product but they don't seem to actualy care about what they say.

And I don't get how getting bought by EA has meant BioWare has suddenly gone downhill. Dragon Age: Origins was fantastic, and ME2 has been the best experience of a game I've had in ages. The only real difference I've seen with BioWare pre-EA to post-EA is the fact I need to sit through another logo before getting to the good stuff. EA's gotten a lot better, with their focus on more original IPs and releasing some genuinely awesome games (like Dead Space and Mirror's Edge). And then it's rather disappointing to me, in that BECAUSE EA has taken this new direction, they've lost millions of dollars while Activision has risen to the top due to their 'only release sequels, innovation is for losers'.

They buy companies and franchises of games, then start making chnages because "they know better" and suck your money until a game is ruined and then abandoned it.
EA - rEApers.

The biggest problem most people have with EA is the fact that they have bought developerstudios primarily for their intellectual properties, and then produce game under the same IP but drastically changed to make it 'mainstream' (much to the displeasure of the fans).UBER GEEKZILLA wrote...

Also, they got a lot of flak for shutting down studios after they weren't as succesfull as hoped (though actually in many cases they just merged smaller studio's into bigger ones, but who needs facts on the Internet).
Furthermore a lot of games they released were rushed (so they could be in stores for the holiday seasons) and as a result were often buggy, etc.
Lastly there was offcourse the whole DRM debable (you could only install a game 3 times and an installation was tied to your hardware).
EA has changed. They have recognised their mistakes; they've stoped treating their customers as criminals (well, as much as a corporation can) by including just a CD check and handing out free DLC as a 'thank you for buying this game new' gift.
They've also changed the way they handle the studios they've acquired by given them more of a free reign in their game design (yes, EA did in fact not tell BioWare to include an ammosystem. Don't believe me? Look it up on the old ME forums, a Dev stated it there).
They are no longer the Evil Empire , but if Internetmeme's have taught us one thing, it's that we love beating that dead horse over and over again.

that's what they do, they psychologically attack us.... with promises and great new follow ups, just so they get the money, they don't care if they ruin a saga... they buy a game after it was popular... then do a second part or a remake that s x as* and they put it on the market like it's the best thing they ever did
then idiots buy these overkills .... but what is really sad is that people never learn their lesson...
as the saying goes, tricked me once, shame on you, tricked me twice shame on me

It's pretty much because EA have a habit of buying out sucessfull developers then forcing them to change the way they do things because EA think they know better and then dropping them when their products don't make as much money as they would of done had EA just let them get on with it.

Try telling that to the likes of Pandemic.

I don't think even the Reapers are as evil as EA.
EA has its own circle of Hell.

let's be serious... no game developer out there is starving...
it's all about the ceos and the action holders that put pressure on the devs to make the games more popular....
the game industry insn't like the music or movie one, you can't make COOL games just cause 16 yolds will play them and get hooked on you're crap.... they are wrong, they are bringing tycoon mentality to an art
