Some sort of demon - it would be nice to know why they do what they do
A Dalish
Qunari mage
Anders
The romanceable people - although not if they can't find a good excuse for Alistair to come along

Alistair -
Anders - he's hilarious and also could fill in for your healing mage.
Nathaniel - My favorite rogue in the series
Zevran - I personally wasn't that into his romance but I know others were so I think they deserve to see him.
Lelianna - see above
Morrigan - see above but also I'd like to know what is up with that God-child of hers.
Dog - as I said Dog and Ser Pounce-a-lot interaction would be cool.
I would also really like to see Anders and Nathaniel romanceable aswell. I've been wanting to do a Cousland x Howe romance since I met Nate.
Races that I'm curious about and so think they would be an interesting addition:
Rivani
Qunari
Also please for the love of the Maker no vampires!

Fixed that for ya. No need to thank me.
But, seriously, I'd like to see a female dwarf companion a male Grey Warden can romance or at least flirt with. Doesn't really matter what class, but a tanking Warrior/Champion would be cool. They made female dwarves very attractive in DA:O, and it was a shame we couldn't recruit one.

On another note, I'm kind of laughing at everyone who is suggesting a darkspawn character. "Good" or not, you do realize that the darkspawn spread the blight, right? You know, that nasty illness that poisons the earth, turns animals into monsters, and turns people into ghouls? Yeah, that's definitely the kind of party member you should be bringing into cities with you...<_<
Good point, but on the other hand, it would definitely be interesting to have an awakened darkspawn around. Just think of all the possible dynamics. Imagine going on a quest to discover the cause of isolated incidents of the taint occuring across Felerdan, only to discover it is caused by the disciple, "The Messenger". The very darkspawn whom you set free (or had the option to) at the end of Awakenings. He has good intensions and aids the needy (as mentioned in the epilogue). Would you (a) kill him to stop the taint from speading, thereby losing a potentially powerful ally, (

Also I don't think any of the characters should be completely written off from any future game, even if it's just a short surprise appearance from one character.

I don't know if I should cheer or not for the godchild as partymember though. It could be done brilliantly (and knowing Bioware, it would be done that way), but it could also be brilliant if he's not a member of your party. So, blargh.
Other than that, I'll trust Bioware to give me decent, interesting partymembers.

- Instead of Wynne however, I'd like to see a short, chubby, grumpy but wise mage who talks to himself a lot and is living outside the Circle.
Spoilers
Being part of the Circle isnt needed to be a mage in my game I would find someone living out of the circle to not be strange at all since they would probably like to leaver shortly after there Harrowing

Yes I loved all the companions in DA and Awakenings but don't feel the need to see them again. New game new characters for me please. (New romances/relationships too!)
(Althouuuuuuughhh I have a bit of an interest to see how a romance would play out with Nathaniel and my orlesian character if there was a romance mod in the pipelines, there is something about him that is so sweet and dreamy, I think he needs lots of cuddles)
Ahh and I really would NOT like to see Valena or Morrigan again as both of them are bits of itches.(hehe)
I love the humour that DA writers instill in the characters and the personalities and am quiet happy to leave it to their imaginations!
PS!!!! Oh I just read the post above!! Yes I would love dog back too!!
Kinda with you but i think i atleast need to know what happened to my child

:Morrigan and our god child
Conner who plans to go back home after training at the circle (thats now legal) but will soon be possesed by that demon again (i wanted to be a BM/AW so bad forgive me for condemming all of redcliffes civilians and possibly more's lives)
Edit: Maybe I wanted to be BM/AW for the following reasons:
AW: loading screens say to protect mages? our mage is our tank
BW: i betrayed Jowan and slaughter lots of Mages so there are no more Blood mages. I am the only one that deserves sucho power, besides i get to take the ****** of BM's beacause the Dialogue dosent change when i pick the speciality.

If it's only a few years after the Blight, then... Well, Alistair is either a king, a drunk or a traveller with the warden, and only one of those three really offer him a chance to ponce around and kill stuff. But of course the legions of fangirls doth protest so he'll probably find his way in some way or another. I'd say he's most likely if it's set within the next few years of the blight.
If it is set in the future, then angsty adult circle mage or apostate or maleficar Connor (depending on the choices you make). Unfortunately he's dead for some people, so I doubt he's happening. An inclusion like that, though, would really make it feel as though your choices actually mattered in DA:O, but of course it would ****** everyone off.

I wish Cullen was one of the romance options in the companions (party), especially if you chose the female storyline, and he becomes a grey warden also...

As said before, Alistair would be very hard - in most games he is a king. So unless DA2 is set in Fereldan, don't expect him to be much more than a bit character. Even then, why would the king leave his position to go adventuring? Unless a better candidate for the throne is found, I can't see him abdicating. Of course, he never really wanted the throne, but I don't think he would leave it to go off to Orlais or Tevinter or wherever.
Other than that though, Morrigan needs to be a part of the sequel, and I would prefer for Leliana and Shale to be in it, but that is up for debate. Beyond that, Anders and Nathaniel would be cool, but I never got too attached to them in Awakening
