i jsut finished insanity on infiltrator, and man i had to "cheat" alot.  By cheating i mean using the sniper slowdown action and the invisibility to fully take out groups of 6+ mobs solo.  I was solo so much because the moment i pop invisibility, ALL the enemies are like "oh yeah, lets shoot these other two scrubs instead."

The biggest frustrations were those super-husk things with the blue shockwave BS.  Also any rocket troops or the collector assasins were just guarenteed death for my team.  I pretty much just assumed it was gonna happen, and tried to work around it.

Its funny, so far i have played twice, hardcore vanguard and insanity infiltrator.  The vanguard like, almost never lost teammates, where the infiltrator loses both of them a couple times every single mission.

ALSO, i know this is a game mechanic intentionally put in, but WTF 12 sniper rounds?  Also if those clips are universal, why do i have 12 sniper rounds and like 400+ smg rounds.  Can i not just take the clip out of the one and put it in the other?

My first platform encounter with the collectors in their disabled ship was probably one of the toughest fights I've had. Virtually no place is safe for your team to take cover in. Its strange that the Scions can throw shockwaves at you but it stops short after hitting the cover, but the shockwave seems to go through walls to reach your squad.

p.s. Grunt and Miranda are probably your two best friends going through insanity.

Well, yeah, it's 12 sniper rounds. But when it comes to power, don't forget that those 12 rounds are about enough to take down a term... reaper.

The clips are Heat Sinks, not ammo magazines. The widow generates enough heat per shot to need a heat sink of its' own, while the Tempest produces a small enough amount that you can fire 50 times before needing to replace it.

I have a few thoughts on this, based on my play as an Infiltrator (I've cleared Insanity as an Infiltrator with both my MaleShep and FemShep):

1) On Insanity, the baddies deal a lot of damage, if you are cloaking all the time, that fire will be concentrated on your teammates and they will get killed.  Use your cloak to move and unleash hell on your opponents.  Draw fire away from your teammates while uncloaked - do this regularly and take out enemies who are most likely to harm your allies quickly.

2) DON'T manually assign your team a spot unless you are completely sure of the spots; trust the A.I.  The ally A.I. is actually fairly solid, they don't do a lot of really stupid things during most fights.  The exceptions to this are during big/boss fights where you need to place them out of immediate harm's way or if you want to post your allies up while you flank the enemy.  Once you flank, use some UNCLOAKED fire to get enemy attention.  Make sure when you place your allies, you place them somewhere where they won't get flanked, and aren't in line for Scion or Heavy Weapon's fire.

3) You don't need to kill everything yourself, work with your allies.  Soften enemies up and assign teammates to finish them (use d-pad commands), or soften enemies up with ally powers, then finish them yourself.  ALWAYS be directing your teammates fire with the d-pad, don't trust them to do a great job managing targets on their own, but they will inflict consistent damage on a baddy if you focus on him/her.

4) M-97 Viper Sniper Rifle - I know, I know, you can't inflict massive death dealing headshots like you can with the Mantis.  However, there are some major advantages.  Because of the huge increase in ammo, you can use your sniper much more frequently and with more versatility.  Because you're firing more shots of with it, you will often be firing until your cloak expires, which DRAWS FIRE AWAY from your teammates, you just need to be smart and don't get yourself killed while exposed.  Instead of a priority target weapon, it can be your staple throughout.

5) M-97 Viper Sniper Rifle - Wait?  Again?  Yes!  Have your allies use it.  They are much more effective with the semi auto than they are with the single shots, especially if positioned well and you are drawing enemy fire.  They also DON'T RUN OUT OF AMMO.  I roll almost all the time with Garrus/Thane/Miranda - either with both the snipers (one with warp, one with overload, me with incinerate and warp ammo) or either sniper (whichever is more appropriate for baddies I'll be facing) and Miranda (for bonuses to the squad, warp, and overload).

I love anti-material sniper weapons and single headshot kills as much as the next person.  But in a team context, a few well deployed semi-auto Vipers allows for better crowd handling, flexibility, error, and still allows for precision killing when necessary (when you really need to take something down, use ally powers to soften, then cloak and UNLEASH up to a full clip in a priority target).   When not sniping yourself, the heavy pistol is a reliable damage dealer at close ranges when accuracy is an issue, and up close cloaked SMG deals MASSIVE damage.
