I'm sure that Mass Effect 3 will improve over ME2, just as ME2 improved several things from the original. However, there are some things that I would like to see kept the same from the first two games, and put into the third.
From ME1:
-Working for the Alliance/Council
-Mako or other vehicle missions
-Overheat weapon system
-Finding/buying better weapons and armor
-Liara, Ashley/Kaiden, Wrex
From ME2:
-Resource gathering (not necessarily planet scaanning, but I like that it is quick and easy to get resources, and you can get a lot if you are diligent)
-Loyalty/personal missions
-Skill system
-Researching to improve abilities/health/shields, etc...
-Customizing armor
I also think that BioWare should completely cut out the ship fuel thing...it was a really stupid idea to begin with.
Anyway, my 2 cents...what would you like to see brought over from ME1 and 2 into ME3?

Things that aren't in ME 1 and 2 I'd like to see in ME3, ie children, even if it's only one or two on a space station charging around, i'd like to visit the homeworlds of the salarians, drell/hanar, asari and others, we get to see the homeworld of the krogan, but nothing of their females or any real understanding of krogan young, I'd like to see more depth to the game which a richer history.
I'd also like to see more interaction between characters, for example, taking the geth onto the quarian ship in me2 is an amazing storyline, the quarians actually object to the geth being there... this doesn't happen anywhere else in the game with any other character.
I'd like to see more followthrough from anderson and the council during the story, not one visit and no further discussion, in me2 some missions indicate that maybe you should return to anderson for further info, but nothing actually happens when you do. It's not very immersive.
Overall I'd want ME3 to feel like it was completed and polished. ME2 feels like it was completed, 70% professionally, 30% out of sheer boredom, and it's blatently obvious that it wasn't polished. There's literally hundreds of class a and b bugs in me2. What you expect from EA games... not from Bioware.

I'd rather not have the Mako personally that thing was and is still a pain in the ass to drive, it's the one reason I stop doing all the side quests.
I think Wrex could well come back as in 2 he says he'd love to go with you if he wasn't uniting the Krogan so if that was a mission then he could join you after that. Ashley or Kaiden I agree with if you romanced them during the game Liara I'm not sure about as there are a few squad members from 2 I'd like to see in the third.
As for the stuff from ME2 I agree with you on all of them but would add the whole find a new weapon and it's avaliable for all thing to the list.
And yes the fuel for the Normandy needs to go, you'd think that in the future you wouldn't need the stuff anyway

Things from ME2 I would like to see: Cameo roles in ME3 for a LI from the previous game (ME2)
