Now, I understand the "need" to have Cerebus mostly in control through MOST of ME2, since they did bring back Shepard, and the Normandy SR2 belongs to them, with the AI and systems that would probably not allow going straight to the Alliance.   The issue I DO have is that there are almost no options for Shepard to feed information(except in one quest) to the Alliance, and for Shepard to keep his loyalty where YOU feel it should be.

You go through ME1, and you have an option to be pro-Alliance, pro-Human, or you can be pro-Alliance, pro-Council, or you can end up being generally anti-Alliance and not really caring what anyone else wants.    Then you hit ME2, and suddenly, you have zero chance to relay information to the Alliance or Council, even while following the leads that Cerberus is providing.

I have seen many threads complaining about various things, but this is one that hasn't been talked about very much.   How hard would it have been to give SOME tiny part of the game to giving reports back to the Council and/or Alliance, with some things going on on the Citadel in response?

i think they are keeping shepard more in the dark for the second game and maybe you will have a chance to connect back with the alliance in ME3
