I made sure he was loyal. Hell we were good friend's (unfortunatly not).

Does this happen to everyone or can i convince him to stay loyal? He was useless i guess, but he sounds like Puss in Boots so that is an immediate awesome +10 for him.

Little scawny bastard, i wished i could of tortured him and hear him squeal like a little girl. Oh and if camera's existed there (magic exists in the game so why not camera's?) then i would take pictures and send them to every member of his family of him being skinned alive.

And then i will ****** on his grave.

Being reminded that Zevran is indeed a scrawny little butt-knuckle always gives me a chuckle. But then I sadface, remembering that he's fully capable of snapping my Warden's elephant-trunk like neck with fabulous ease.

I've never heard of a glitch pertaining to him betraying you regardless of his disposition. Maybe it simply wasn't high enough? Toss him a gold bar or two. Maybe a couple dozen. At once.

He's bi, and really prefers girls.

You must not have been good friends or he would have stayed. He only leaves if you really aren't friends at all or if you initiated the romance but didn't raise his approval high enough. Then he leaves and returns to camp. If he fought against you then you were really deluded about the extend of his approval of you!

He doesn't have any family. They're all dead.

That's a shame. I was looking for some Ha-ha time with Zevran's family using a colourfull mixture of scalpals, tooth-picks, abit of fire and to top it off a big nice meat cleaver to cut off their ickle elf fingers. And then feed them to my dog.

Creature 1, i gave all sort's of crap like a wooden statue. Maybe it is because i turned him down?

He would at least grant you a fast death, why not give him the same?

Nah, where is the fun in that?

Rough him up abit, skin him alive and maybe put salt in his cuts.

I doubt it, turning him down would make him more likely to stick with you because he is less conflicted about the situation if he's not falling in love.  I guess he's just a good judge of character.

Zevran's not into art.  He likes things that are useful and things that are valuable and easily converted to currency in any country.

Naughty Bear, didn't you talk about torturing Zevran in an earlier thread?

General game mechanic, if you turned him down, your approval was too high for him to betray you. If you were still flirting with him, though, he may not fight with you, though he wouldn't fight against you either. Also, if you turned him down, that means you came onto him first . . .

But I will say you're pretty funny. Usually this is posted in a Zevran love thread instead of being made a new topic.

You probably didn't have his approval high enough (and if it wasnt high enough while giving him gifts then you were giving him stuff not really meant for him. If its under a certain amount he will betray you. Otherwise keeping him around is pretty darn easy, even if he considers leaving (which he sometimes does) you can typically keep him around with the right responses.

Alistair likes the statues, Sten likes the art, and Zevran gold, silver. Why are you torturing Zev? If he turned on you his approval must still have been nuetral.

How on earth did you get Zevran to hate you? He's generally one of the most loyal party members. You really had to work at that, I reckon...

That'll teach you. Should have slit his throat at the first encounter and saved yourself the aggravation from the ingrate. Same thing happened to me the first go around, second time through - not a chance. Third time through I worked at it and retained his loyality. Truth be told, I don't think he's worth it. I generally find professional murderers distasteful. Plus I find every other companion more useful as party members, so he pretty much tends the campfire from start to finish.

Yet . . . you like Leliana?  Granted, she only liked the hunt, not the killing part . . . I suppose that's different.  Though she wasn't always gracious enough to give her marks a clean death

Well she does seem to be trying to reform her life and live a more meaningful one.  Zev talked about enjoying the killing - the satisfaction of feeling his blade sink into his victim(s).  Shudder.  That's more than a bit disturbing.  I might even be okay with the murdering part if he were honorable enough to do so mano a mano, but the sneaking up on a person when they sleep to stab them through the heart just seems wrong - dishonorable.  Splitting hairs with morality, I guess.

Did he turn on you in the Taliesin fight? You don't need terribly high approval for him to stay loyal there (I was only little over +30). I don't agree with the notion that he's particularly easy to keep at high approval, though. I haven't come across that many gifts for him and he can be touchy in conversation sometimes. I think he actually has the lowest approval of any of my characters right now. I guess it depends on the type of character you're playing...

I find it utterly fascinating.  Hell, the sociologists should throw out their experiments and questionnaires and just come and read the various threads at this site.  The infinite complexity to human thought and emotion is available for the taking.

Umm Zevran is pretty easy to ****** off... just insult his leather fetish. That rustles his crow feathers quick.

But yeah I gave him both of his stupid gifts and he betrayed me... jerk face D:<
