oh and as to the allies thing i just read this of bioware site (Besides Oghren who plays a large role in Awakening, there are cameos and returning characters. For companions you'll potentially meet Loghain, Wynne, and Alistair depending on your decisions in Origins. In regards to NPCs, Master Wade and Herren reprise their roles, with Wade offering to make even more fantastical goods if the player brings his list of ingredients. Loghain's daughter, Anora, may also appear in Awakening depending on your choices in Origins. From David Gaider's novel "The Calling" - both the Architect and Utha are present in Awakening)

Umm I killed Loghain!

Knowing Bioware, they'll probably sell us a $5 DLC that lets us get our old DLC items back.

I wouldn't be so annoyed if there were a good reason for this, but what it really comes down to is laziness and greed. As in, 'We're too lazy to program this expansion so that the story will be congruent with what you experienced in the first game, and we've thrown out most of the characters you spent time with and cared about, and all that stuff you were stupid enough to buy from us before?...out the window, BUT you should pay us $40 because there're new WEAPONS and ABILITIES LULZ!'

This expansion is slowly getting on my nerves

You ain't seen nothin' yet, boy!  After the expansion is released, they'll offer a new $5 download that restores the viability of your original DLC equipment and throws in another trinket or two.  By gosh, it sure is wonderful to see that EA isn't having any sort of negative influence on BioWare.  Nope, none.  No siree!   Image IPB

Special discount, only $10 per companion, $5 more if you want them romancable and $20 more if you want it to carry over to the next DLC/Expansion.

ok so now for a serious question and be honest.

How many of us are probably going to buy the expansion anyway?

Oh, I'll buy awakening for sure. The lack of romances is not a deal breaker for me.
I'm done with the DLC, though. If I want more loot that's going to disappear as soon as a sequel rolls out, there's a ton of free mods out there.

I don't understand why our DLC items can't be carried over. Can someone clarify this please? My Warden is geared mostly with the DLC items and its not like we didn't work for them.

"How many people are going to wait until all this material is rolled into a Gold or Platinum Edition?" is an equally valid question.  With this glitch and that shift 'n' shaft, waiting isn't such a bad idea.  Image IPB

I'm going to buy it, but I'm growing more and more disenchanted with the sloppy programming and money-grubbing ways that I've been seeing from Bioware. Warden's Keep and Return to Ostagar were pretty much the equivalent of WoW players selling equipment for cash, except the developer was doing it. If this game turns out to be some kind of hack and slash with new weapons, I'm going to have to give a long, hard look at buying things from them in the future.  They might win the battle and lose the war if they keep up this way, if you know what I mean.

I prepaid for the expansion and the walktrough guide BEFORE the FAQ was released, now I'm seriously considering getting my money back.

Is there no hardcover option for the guide to go along with the DA:O HC guide? Fail.

People whine a lot, but most of us will probably buy the game. I just think that Bioware should be more worried about their long-term reputation than making a few thousand bucks off bad DLC/hastily released expansions.

I see alot of people asking about the DLC items, I see their point to. That is not real important to me but it seems like they could have been carried over and then made either obsolete or some quests to enhance them to be more effective against the new threat. I mean you are wearing the armor of a King and wielding a sword made from a fallen star. But I want my Lilli back, batting those big eyelashes at me and singing to me and rubbing my ohhhh sorry I got carried away!

I just wish that I knew when I bought them that Bioware DLC was no good...it's just a money grab for OP items. I know now, though, and I'll certainly be more cautious in the future.
