I'm not too excited about Awakening. I have bought every Bioware game on day one since Baldur's Gate 2 but this seems like its missing too much of what I have come to expect in their games. Losing romances hurts because they have been a staple in Bioware games for a long time.
Maybe it's because Bioware games have always been so big in the past is why Awakening seems lacking.
Maybe I expect too much from my favorite game company.

I would like to hope they add the romance back in the game, it made for some fun undertones. I liked the the way Liiliana would giggle when you clicked her, and how about when she sings that sweet song. Those are nice little touches that add a certain quality to the game that make more of an experience than a hack and sack game.

I prefer dlc stuff are not to be carried to awakening since they simply hurt the balance. Normally you can't(and SHOULD NOT) get massive armor sets right after lothering but thanks to DLCs, can't even remember the last time i used low tier heavy armor.



But who am i kidding? a mount or two we will be buying new unbalanced uber-super massive armors for the awakening.

It seems stupid to restrict players from gear if the story is supposed to be happening after the events of Origins. I wonder if they will bother even trying to justify it in-story.



This makes me more convinced that they should have just made Awakenings a new character story and I'm thinking that's what I will probably do now.



I don't know what they are thinking here. At the very least I'd like them to explain why they are doing this.

exactly i cant believe how much time i've spent playing dao getting thoroughly into it only to find out that it's all for nothing blummin typical serves me right for neglecting my fiance to play this game tho he gets the last laugh

oh and as to the allies thing i just read this of bioware site (Besides Oghren who plays a large role in Awakening, there are cameos and returning characters. For companions you'll potentially meet Loghain, Wynne, and Alistair depending on your decisions in Origins. In regards to NPCs, Master Wade and Herren reprise their roles, with Wade offering to make even more fantastical goods if the player brings his list of ingredients. Loghain's daughter, Anora, may also appear in Awakening depending on your choices in Origins. From David Gaider's novel "The Calling" - both the Architect and Utha are present in Awakening)
