In Mass Effect 1 we had an awesome inventory system. I could upgrade my weapons with a personal customization which left me feeling fulfilled. Now when it comes down to it I want that option back. I'm dieing without it in Mass Effect 2. I want to play a RPG not an action game so for Mass Effect 3. Bioware please and I mean please give me back my inventory system. I don't like not changing my armor before missions and liked the fact I upgrade my weapons from the first one. Some of the weapons are cool, but its not good enough. If you are someone who wants the old inventory system from Mass Effect 1 back and to have it put in Mass Effect 3 please let me know. I'm seriously going to try to get the old inventory system back.

I want to play a game. If I wanted to do that, I would go sift through my neighbor's trash for recyclables.
I like the way loot works in this game, it cuts out the middle man. You only pick up things that are USEFUL. Anything you pick up that ISN'T useful is immediately converted to credits via a "bounty system". It's really ****ing intelligent.
The ONLY problem with the inventory system in ME2 is that I have no renewable income.

I want to play an RPG not an Action game. Understand! (RPG)! That means ROLE PLAYING GAME! Loot comes with the territory. Do you understand. Mass Effect is an RPG! RPG! Lets keep it that way. I've hear more people wanting the inventory back then most. It wasn't crap because I could sell the stuff for major money and use only the good stuff. That was why their was a trader on your ship. Duh! If you remember playing ME 1. I would use only the stuff that mattered and then sell the rest for credits. I loved it, it was one of my biggest turn ons to mass effect to begin with. I want my inventory back, son. Nothing more nothing less!

I don't think you understand what an RPG is "son".
also, you hear more people wanting it back because the people (like me) who like the new system, are playing the game, not whining like babies.

I agree! every time I pull the trigger I want to see dice roll on my screen and decide if I successfully pass an aim check.

ME2 just needs a larger selection, then it would be a perfect system imo.

ME isn't Baldur's gate or KOTOR. It's a new take that is combining action and RPG elements and its had a very good showing. The way the game plays can only take so much into account when it cones to weapons.
You find a good SMG, you use your class' or borrow another class' ammo power and fire off enemies. There isn't much they can do in terms of weaponry to change that. Adding upgrades on a personal level "might" be a nice touch in the next one, but the system works very well for now.

While I'm glad I don't have to worry about having to omni-gel crap loads of Sirta Foundation Phoenix armor, I miss loot. Presently everything in the game is static... the same money, the same resources, the same upgrades all in the same place every play through. It also feels quite unrewarding to fight through so many waves and waves of enemies, with the only thing you acquire from them being thermal clips.
I don't want the old system back, but what I do want is something that is convenient and rewarding to the player. The old system was inconvenient, the new system is unrewarding. I think there has to be a comfortable middle ground in there somewhere.

ME2 is much better given the upgrades perform the same effective function of advancement while not having to sift through tons of garbage. Credits actually matter and are worth collecting.

Also, the whole heatsink idea is plain retarded physics and is a terrible in game explanation. ME1's overheat was a unique and realistic solution with logical upgrades (frictionless materials, etc). ME2 retconned the entire system and made it worse.

Mass Effect was never meant to be a full blown RPG, and very few of the items were actually very good, and you don't even need money once you hit about half way to a third through the game. Just replayed ME1 and all squad used same weapons whole time, granted it was a new game+ but you always know that you will end up using the same weapons in the end anyway.
