component, both downloadable content and online play."

In fiscal 2011 everygame will have an online component. NOT everygame in fiscal 2011 and from that point onward. Just that every game in that fiscal period will have it. I dont see Mass Effect 3 on shelves until 2012. So until something says this applies to fiscal 2012 or to Mass Effect 3 directly I am not going to worry about the series losing its current single player status.

I am huge fan co-op multiplayer but if it would slow the down the production of ME3 i would not want to be added but if they could add something like what dante inferno is doing or some multiplayer maps

and it does not effect ME3 production and what is big deal.Mass effect has lot of great elements that would make a great co op game and great multiplayer. If we where talking about ME1 you guys might have a argument but ME2 is as much TPS shooter as it is RPG in fact i have seen enough argument on this board that bioware took almost all of RPG out of ME.Good TPS have multiplayer and co op.

To people saying no,Why would co-op effect your experience? You can still play the game as single player game.I fail to see how co-op would harm mass effect. You guys don't want do it have to use it when it is put in game.If it would affect your single player game player i could understand but nothing would change.

the reason why i dont want co op is because not every f'n game needs it. it has nothing to do with effecting the production but every game so far ( shooter wise) has a 10 hour campaighn do to either co-op or multiplayer modes. and id rather have a long story thats 30 - 50 hours instead of ten

That's assuming multiplayer implementation wasn't at the cost of single player plot content. of course.

Your a Fool, tazz slap him:devil:
creating co-op ruins stories would limit ME3s even more because of console limitations.
you have no Idea how game development work do you?

Not to mention nobody seems to actually PLAY multiplayer mode, they wanted but actually use it?about 3 month in and multiplayer lobbies are ghost towns ...
That is why developers should just ignore the crybabies that keep asking for a mode that is not going to be used but yet will consume resources that would be better spend on the singleplayer.

While I am not going to argue for or against this idea, i would just like to point out that Bioware has never done a game with multiplayer or co-op, so it would be something new, well we saw what happened to the RPG elements of ME2 when the focused mainly on the combat element, the Story and RPG suffered, now if they tried to add Co-op/multiplayer, the main game would suffer even more as there entire focus would be towards that and not where the game should truely stay, a single player, story driven game.

I totally agree, and ME3 should not go the way of Bioshock 2 and add bad multiplayer to an otherwise great game. They should only add multiplayer and co op if it is amazing like the single player, and if it takes away from the experience by just being an annoying option on the menu, Bioware should leave it out.

I do not remember BG having a co-op /multi-player mode, so i will take your word on that, I still feel that with the current team, and how bad the RPG elements suffered with there focus on revamping the combat, that to add the co-op type game play would dilute the game even further into a CoD/Bioshock2/GoW clone as that would be their entire focus.
It had co-op, but not many seem to speak of it. People still play it occasionally over hamachi/tunngle. It turned out pretty well, I think. If the single player aspect of ME3 is hammered out BEFORE co-op, then I imagine it'd be a nice addition. Assuming Bioware was willing to spend the resources on it without making it the main focus of the game. Peer-to-peer connection would make it relatively cheap though, I'd think. Not that I know what I'm talking about or anything.
