I do not understand why do people want a coop in a SP game. Are they so lame they can not play it for themselves? :crying: ME1 is a SP RPG, ME2 is SP TPS. If there is even slightest sign of something like coop in ME3 I will not buy it. I want to play SP RPG. If you want a coop, buy a coop game.

MP, whether co-op or versus mode would kill ME for me for one reason - I like the pause. I like the way I can go and put the kettle on and make a cup of tea to ruminate over a decision - be it a combat or an RPG decision.

I do play mulitplayer games and have a great time doing it. I loved playing co-op with my mate on HALO 3 at Legendary difficulty and had a great time doing the same with both Gears games. I could go on about the long list games we have had blast with playing co-op with a stack of beers and XBox live. All these games are built round the multiplayer. I have had about 20 hours of play out of the single player of MW2, over multiple playthroughs, but spent a lot more in online play. I have had value here.

Bioware would have to compete with these already very mature multiplayer systems. Why would they bother for ME? If they want to have a go out at multiplayert, they would presumably start a new project with that at the heart, which is what they are doing with the new Star Wars game.

The market for single player games is huge. I know many people that have only ever played the single player campaign of the above mentioned games because they hate online play. It can be hard. You can spend quite a bit of time trying to find a game where people aren't singing down their mic or swearing at you all the time, There is quite a long list of irritants with online playing.

I don't think single player games will die any more than TV progs, movies, books and other individual experiences will.

it occurs to me that the articles both say "some sort of online content" technically doesn't the DLC count as online content? i mean, that seems to be what the article is pointing to, not necessarily online play as either multi-player or co-op...

I would love coop if done right. However I don't trust bioware to make coop amazing while keeping singleplayer godly.

Co-op should never exist for this trilogy and really doesn't fit well in RPGs. Now if BW wants to develop a different arc that's based around co-op, then I'm all for it.

Sigh...come on people, let these threads die already. Not every game needs mp/coop. ME certainly doesn't.

Wow talk about an antisocial guy hell bent on keeping us from what we want. FIRST OF ALL Co-Op is ALWAYS OPTIONAL IN GAMES- Never forced, So in other words what you are saying is you don't want other gamers to have options? Well since you want to be a dictator I will be one too and inform you that since OUR opinions don't matter YOUR opinion does not matter to us. It is people like you that hold back game development. Who are either Anti-Social, or afraid of competition. I will file your whining under ALL OF THE ABOVE.

THEN DON'T USE CO-OP MODE WHEN IT COMES OUT- STAY SINGLE PLAYER, Co-op in games is ALWAYS optional- GOOD GRIEF!

I love how people always have to try to control how everyone else games. It has been said, "why is it that God gives us free will, then we use that freewill to oppress others?". If you don't like Co-Op NO ONE is holding a knife to your neck to use it. ALL GAMES THAT OFFER CO-OP give you the choice to use it or not, right of the bat. They are always separate in your menu. Yet you people have the nerve to tell ME what choices I can have in my game? Do I tell you what to do? How to game? It is that kind of one sided hold that keeps games from progressing and future ideas from being explored. The same type of people would have hindered space travel and world wide web before they were ever off the ground because "They do not like green eggs and ham". Tell you what, Stick to your single player, and my friends and I will work together to save the Galaxy. BUT -don't you DARE tell me how to game. There is nothing wrong with "O P T I O N S", and those who conclude that there is, are nothing short of petty dictators. MAN sometimes people disgust me. P.S. I don't need to pause the game, I can shoot REAL good, and navigate the menu quickly, if this is a problem for you, maybe instead of spending your time telling other how they are allowed to game, you should sharpen up on your skills.
