I always use ME to setup ME 2 characters because I hate the default decisions; which, I suspect, was the devs purpose in making those choices (Who really kills wrex, puts Udina on council?) but with the 20/20 hindsight of having played and beaten 2, it changes how I play ME. When I setup my chars I do main quest, known carryover quests, and BDTS (to get more levels)

Choices I always make:

Save Wrex

Anderson For Pres(Seriously)

Save Queen(even as a renegade, I reasoned she'd be a good ally)

Never Give SB the data (from Hades Dogs. Knowing Cerb, I want the alliance to have all the fire power it can)

what choices have you guys changed in one because of two?

PS. Was not posted in General due to poss. spoilers(Wrex, Council) let me know if it should be ok there

Also I can tell you trying to use the galaxy map is so annoying. Pressing X when you mean to press B and pressing B when you mean to press X.

I avoided romance so I was free to have 'fun' in ME2 without cheating :D

The rest of my decisions I stand by, even sacrificing the Council. It's ironic but my main character has been verdant paragon in ME1 AND 2 yet both of the ending decisions he's made have been Renegade: Council blown up, Collector Base retained.

I hope that doesn't come to bite me in the ass!

dunno about the imports, I suspect so

Default shep major decision( Wrex KIA, Council Exploded, Udina outraged to be on Council) and he treats anderson like a lapdog

I actually choose to save the council, instead of the neutral option (save the reinforcements for the reaper).

Thats really the only thing I decided to change, most of the other decisions im happy with.

I now have no problem on any character letting the council die.

Dude, I know, right?!

In ME1 I was like: Ok.. I'll save them. Maybe now they'll ****ing listen to me when the galaxy is about to get pwned.

Wont make that mistake again...

Is Udina really the default decision? That was easily the biggest no brainer in the entire game. There is no reason, Renegade or Paragon, to put the guy in. As a Paragon, you want the noble defender with humanity's interests and the strength to stand on principle: Anderson. As a Renegade, you want the military person who has supported you and can be trusted to take a solid military stance on the Reapers over the whiny politician who backstabbed you at every chance: Anderson again. Why the hell would anyone put Udina on the council?

Only playing ME1 I saved the council for a few reasons,  like getting to be the hero to all 3 species as well as securing future help from the council.

Having played ME2, Mr Air Quotes turian counciler can DIAF

Certainly, The Shadow Broker essentially runs the whole universe with his information trading...get him on your side (If you give him the data his agent says "This will not be forgotten" blah blah) and you could be a real pain in the arse.

Replaying ME1, it seems that the default setting in ME2 are due to Shepard selecting the neutral (middle) option at all times, then the top option if no middle option is available. I might be wrong but it seems that way. I think Udina gets elected because you said you don't care who gets the Counciler position.

True, Vincent, but the devil you do know is better than the one you don't. Knowing how Liara Hates the SB, i have my spidersense wailing that theres a nefarious purpose there

I also get helena to disband her gang. I have enough threats to deal with. Batarians, Missile Launching Terrorists, Conrad Verner. not to mention that whole galactic extinction thing coming.

And I let Balak go. I bet that bites me in ME3
