I've simply given up on ever seeing my characters get uploaded. My profile only shows my first character, still at lvl 1 from 7 days ago! Since then I've created 2 more characters, neither of them have uploaded at all. I only ever make manual saves, and, according to my X-Fire profile, I've logged 22 hours playing DA:O. All my achievements seem to upload within minutes of being earned.



As for the "explanation" in the FAQ, only uploading character data if someone visits your profile just seems to be a very poor way of uploading/updating. Surely it would be better to just upload/update once every X hours? As is, the system is rewarding those players who are very active in these forums and are subsequently getting a lot of profile views, while those who are either not very active or just simply do not post a lot are being treated as "un-wanted" because they get litte to no profile views so are deemed as not worthy of having their character data even uploaded, let alone updated!

The site now acknowledges that I have a character with stats, equipment, etc... now I just have the common issue of no picture of said character. Oh, and I'm not sure how this works with the 360 but I also have no screenshots. As well, I had started a second character but there's no evidence they exist here. (Which isn't so bad since I'll probably finish the game with my first before I really play the next, but still something that needs to be addressed)

My story details are listed- but go to a broken link when expanded.

Of note, I haven't played or even turned on the 360 since last night, but it's been during today that the site has been (sporadically) updating my game/character info.

just to add to the discussion, i have this problem as well. my profile didn't update for a couple of days until earlier today, and even then it still updated old data. i last played last night and didn't have my most recent data. the profile says it might take a couple hours to update, but it seems like the profile is more like a couple days behind. i'm getting the impression this profile thing was a little half assed and i'm disappointed with it.

I am having problems as well. Currently I have no character listed, and this is because I deleted it off of the site in the hopes that this would help a more up to date version appear. However before that I did everything I've seen recommended including equipping new items. I've also unmarked the 'upload character information to Dragon Age servers' option in the menu, saved, then remarked it and saved again. Still nothing.

How bout patching that so it actually works properly??
I mean I have 5 different characters, one I made with the ingame CC, which is not even uploading on here, all of them are at least lv.4, cept for 1 character.

My screenshots upload, my achivements upload but yet another frelling thing on this site & game that is broken.
I guess its not like I should be shocked, concidering I have 3 different help requests out to EA and not a single response from them to any of them.

I JUST WISH BIOWARE WOULD GET IT TOGETHER AND GET THIS SITE FULLY FUNCTIONING.

my character ahs been lvl 17 for about 2 days. Even though I beat the game and hit at least 20 since then.

Lets see here.....
Ryukoken, Mordicai, Arwen, Gwendolyn, Magnus & Isis (who dispite being the furthest in the story of all my characters has yet to even frelling appear!) and yes, I manually save every few minutes and I sure as hell am not still in my starting attire! Yet all of them still show being at lv. 1, and I have been playing since 11-3 when the game came out.

This is the kind of *^$&* that needs to get frelling fixed!

Definitely some weird things regarding profile updates.



I've got a level 13 mage, who is wearing a suite of plate... and the character sheet on the website lists her as wearing the correct armor, yet the image is wrong.



I've also noticed that the profile section seems especially prone to browsers caching out of date information, sometimes I need to refresh pages a time or two in order to view the correct data.

I truly believe I am being patient.  I understand it is a beta site and Bioware has a lot to deal with - I am trying to help fix the problem by updating my personal situation and help others understand as well what is going on, and yes I want my characters up too.

I have had the game since release day, registered it that night and my characters showed up immediately the next day (all characters I made with the downloaded character creator previously) -
And my main character has been stuck at level 3 on here since.  Though all of my achievements are up to date.

What I have tried -
1 - waiting (this has been basically since the 4th)
2 - reading the forums and faqs and keep watching for a fix
3 - patching (did that pretty much the hour the patch was made available)
4 - turning on and off the different online options and saving
5 - changing equipment and manually saving
6 - removing all equipment and manually saving
7 - manually saving in different locations
8 - manually saving with different party members
9 - manually saving with no party members
10 - manually saving all of the above combinations with many different names (from default save names to creative ones to erasing almost all saves and resaving)
11 - checking firewall settings (to the point of making every single dao program an exception)
12 - erasing the online character of Tyrri (for which she stayed gone for awhile)
13 - checking (and changing) the .ini settings  (which brought Tyrri back, but still at 3rd level, though now her story had more entries though nowhere near current)
14 - and throughout the process I've tried logging in through the game, saving and turning off the program - logging in through the game, leaving the game on the main screen for hours - logging in through the game, loading my save, and letting the game sit paused for hours - logging in through the game, loading a game, saving a new save, and leaving the game on for hours - and combinations of all the previous while each web browser option I had was both logged into the social site or not on at all.

oh, and yes, I've had people view my profile at various stages over the last week to see if that made a difference.

I've done plenty of troubleshooting for computers, software, games and electronics on many jobs - anything I could think of I've tried on my end.

In short, the list of "fixes" in the faq were tried LONG AGO.

I need new ideas - is it possibly my ISP?  My router's firewall blocking ports?  Is Wisconsin being punsihed (queue orderwise?)  Are different players who registered on different days or got shunted to different servers having more problems?  Are there programs I should or should not have running in the background?

There have only been 3 changes to my characters profiles since the 4th -
1. Achievements have been keeping up to date
2. I erased Tyrri and she stayed gone on the site
3. After I futzed with the .ini (and this was only a few days back) Tyrri came back as she was since the 4th EXCEPT her story was updated a bit and now she is last in the order of characters where she used to be second.

I know you guys are doing you best, and I appreciate it.  I hope you can look at this (I've sent similar via the help, people, yes, there's an open ticket) and it'll help you to corner the problem(s).

I could erase all my characters.

I could uninstall and reinstall DAO

I could uninstall and reinstall Windows.



I've not done anything that drastic. Yet.

I haven't been able to get any of my characters to show up on the site at all. It has however kept perfect track form my achievements. I'm playing the 360 version and the site will show an achievement I earned rather quickly, sometimes almost instantly. NONE of my characters have ever shown up at ANY point. Having read the posts in this thread, I am about to just give up on the site entirely.

Yes the achievements for the 360 have kept up to date....ive tried everything possible.....its nothing to do with how we save or change the equipment etc....its to do with this site and the bugs that need sorting out.

Tried deleting Nira, my current played character last night, played a bit, manually saved, but she hasn't re-appeared. (yet? )

(After doing the manual .ini settings and waiting for a day or 5)

Ah well, we'll see what gives...

Not the end of the world but it's a bit of a shame...

Lucky for some! mine still has not updated ever! only the original data sent from a couple of hours after i started playing. Got badges from having 2 specializations but only level 2...interesting!

I have the exact same problem as you. It tracks my achievements but doesn't recognise that I have a character. Can anyone help?

My problem is my character portrait and my doesn't show up. Everything else is updating at lease some time. I have tried on multiple occasions manually saving and just letting it sit there. I have also tried deleting my character from the social site and doing a save to re-upload. This is the only method that actually uploads my info, but even then it leaves out my portrait and story. The weird thing is the portrait background shows up fine.I checked the character folder in "My Documents\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\Characters" and my portrait is there, though I couldn't find any information about the story in the xml document.



One more thing. I'm not sure if this could make a difference, but my uploaded character is actually my second attempt at creating that character, so all my files are called Lann1 instead of just Lann. If this is probably the problem, is there any way for me to change the file names to Lann and still be able to play with that character?

I have tried all of the above solutions as suggested. Nothing. My character (main) still has level 7 items and stats, with pics. It's been over 10 days now since any update at all.

EDIT: Oh, and every time I try to "Manage my Characters" to perhaps delete - the dear website says "This feature is currently unavailable."

OK, FINALLY my Xbox 360 characters started updating yesterday.... except for the pictures of course.

Same problem with my profile as most who posted. You can check mine out here.

My char is still showed as lvl 1 while screenshots and achievements are updated correctly.
Worse, the character is also an incorrect one; taken from a DA CC upload which i've deleted long ago.

I always log in when playing and manual save my game progress, I use the PC version of DAO with patch applied.

Sure hope this error will be rectified some day...

To test whether or not profile views actually makes a difference, why doesn't everyone in this thread view the profiles of everyone else in this thread, and see if we get any more frequent updates.

what I don't get is why can't Bioware add a function to the game through a small patch that allows us to manually upload our game data through the launcher? I mean that would allow us to make sure all of our data is up to date on the site without having to rely on the game and its virtually non-existant choice to upload data.

I have the feeling that this problem won't get fixed until a few months from now, after several new games come out to draw people away from replaying DAO(hopefully not as late as ME2) - once the traffic dies down more, in short.
