Mine will sometimes update and sometimes won't. I have had more problems with the character pictures loading and the portrait created in creater has never uploaded to this site. I hope my next character uploads better. Oh, and I did a manual save last night and it has yet to update last nights hours worth of play.

Well I have now completed the game since I originally started this thread, and I am still listed as level 2 All of my achievements, however, showed up the night that I beat the game so I guess that is a small condolence. Strangely enough I started a new character last night (made her from scratch as opposed to importing from the character creator like my Demlash character) and she has already updated. I wonder if that is one of the difficulties that the site is having is updating character creator character as opposed to completely new ones...

Mine isn't from the character creator.

Obviously the site did update at some point on the 4th for me - as my character is listed at level 3. Other than achievements, the only other time it updated was after I changed the .ini file and suddenly a bunch of story updated. But that's the only change since the 4th.



Since my achievements are up to date I know that information is getting to the Bioware servers. The questions are:

-is all of my information reaching those servers?

-is the information garbled or formatted wrong?

-are the servers refusing to accept the non-achievement info?

-are the servers skipping updating any of my information save the achievements for some reason?

-is there a problem with the servers updating the character profiles



There are a few things left I could try on my end, but since so many people are having problems I seriously doubt that it is a "problem" on my end as much as a glitch that needs to be discovered and nailed down -

in any case, most of these options are ones I'd rather not do -

- play a different character and see if that one updates (I want to finish my current story first)

- create a new character w/o the character creator and see if it updates (same reservations as before)

- erase all the characters I have and start with a new one (ditto)

- uninstall and reinstall the game (broken record)

- reinstall Windows (the PC Tech's catch-all solution: is there a problem in your house somewhere, then burn it down and build a new one regardless of what the problem was!)

I give up. It's really simple. Have a working character profile thing or not. Bioware does not have a working one. I think they only fixed some of the issues for PC users and left it at that.

I got the same problem... I created several characters and played all the Origins, then started fresh with a final character. Seemed to be updating fine for a while, but my last character is not there, nor none of my later screenshots. shows Im logged in when I start the game. I think the achievements are updating still -- will have to keep a watch on those to double check.

The only thing that has updated on my profile are the achievements. According to my profile, I have no character at all. Brilliant. So I'm doing no playthrough, but I still manage to get achievements.... I'm such a l33t h@><><0r

I had the same problem with my character profile not updating. Taking the advice on a previous reply, I went to check and see if the Dragon Age Updater Service was running. It was not. I attempted to start it and was getting an error.

So what I did was changed the starting of the service from Manual to Automatic and restarted my computer. Once it restarted, I verified that the Service was running, started the game, logged in, then checked my Character Profile. Within a couple of minutes, my profile was fully updated.

If anyone is interested, I can try and write out more detailed instructions if you don't know how to check services or if there is any clarification that needs to be made.

BTW, I'm running XP with Dragon Age running through Steam (Digital Deluxe). If you have Win7 or Vista, I will not be able to help with checking services. I apologize.

not all of us...none of my PC characters show up at all.

nor do my xbox characters.

Achievements, however, do.

Same for me too. My character stucked at Level 6 and not updating.

Same here. Character still stuck at level 11. I beat the game last night. Has not updated since 11/9/09

Well, as it stands now my new character is level 6 (I stopped playing like 5 hours ago) and it only shows her as level 2   It appears that all my characters are destined to stay at level 2.  At least it will look like a greater accomplisment when I look back and see at all my end game achievements with my under-leveled PC's!

Hi AP  I would be interested in knowing how to check and change the DA US?  Dont need a bunch of detail, but I have XP also and am just not sure where to look.  Thanks in advance.

Just checked my profile still not updated. Still showing 11/ 09 as last update and me as a level 9 mage. I have a level 12 Mage. The story line and Acheivments haven't updated yet either. They really need to fix their servers. I can't ping them from the 360 like I could if I was playing this game on my PC.

As my Dragon Age Updater always shows it is running I doubt this is my issue.

But ...

I'll try anything so I just went and set mine from Manual to Automatic.

Seriously doubt it'll have an effect, but at least I can eliminate it as an issue.

Thanks for the hint AP -- my Updater Service was set to Manual and was not running.  I set it to Automatic and restarted -- then started up DAO as far as the main menu.  As soon as I got to the Forums site, my profiles had been updated.  Hopefully, that will take care of it.

Well...it's updated, at least, the xp total/level. however, it's -now- not showing any of the gear on the model in the character profile(it shows i'm -wearing- the right gear, just not displaying on the model, and thus, the portrait available for use as my forum picture), and the storyline stuff hasn't updated in a while. But, like others, all the achievments are updating.

And, just for note, I can see the Update SErvice running in my task manager(running on Vista). I guess it's set to Automatic since I -just- rebooted my computer about an hour ago, but I have no idea how to make properly sure.

The Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater running or not, is most likely not having any bearing on profiles updating. If it had, then I would only assume that since I've needed to have it running for the DLC since day one, that my profile should update smooth and often. It does not. Currently it lists my Mage Decurio as Lv.11 and he is Lv.13. It lists him with Starfang the 2H sword and he is wearing an Arcane Warrior sword and a "codex"-Dagger at the moment. Neither does he still wear Bergen's Honor (as it is an eyesore with the Warden's set) and his toughest defeated enemy is High Dragon, not Marjolaine. The service is running, the game was started again some 40 minutes ago. The profile haven't updated.

The thing I have noticed though, is that Achievements are nearly instantly updated. I can get an achievement and within minutes or nearly instantly if I were to check my profile soon after, it will list it as unlocked.

" Data is updated as frequently as possible - progress in-game may take up to an hour to appear here." is starting to seem a bit silly now. Anyways, if you want to make sure the Updater service is running, in both XP and Vista, run services.msc from the Start menu and there you can see if it is started or not. The service is needed for DLC content, so it's not a bad thing to have it running if you ever plan on getting some. I can highly recommend Warden's Keep and The Stone Prisoner (wich you should all have access too as it was included to my knowledge with every new purchase).

Also, what is the point of the Share links to Facebook and Twitter, when to view a profile you need to be logged in at any rate? Not everyone is going to bother sign up just to view someone's character profile. Kinda limits it when you want to show how cool the game potentially is to your mate(s).

There is obviously a server problem (as mentioned in another thread) so I figure that nothing we do on our end will fix this right now. I don't see the point in getting upset though. It is a Sunday night after all. I would expect to see some headway in the first party of the coming week. Maybe they should have left the "beta" on the top of the page though?
