Character profiles not updating?

I read in the FAQ section (I think) that who got priority for updates also had something to do with how many times your character or your profile had been viewed - does this strike anyone else as silly?? Maybe it's just me, but I assume the majority of the people on these forums don't constantly go through their friends profiles all day hitting refresh??

What was wrong with giving everyone's update equal priority in the queue??

Or for that matter why we can't 'request' an update which might be handy for those of us currently having issues...

That could be the case with the required number of views needed for a profile update.  Who wants to look at mine?! :P

The site says that I have no characters, but achievements and screenshots are updated. If this is caused by number of views required, please visit mine....

Not yet. The "last updated" message changed a few hours ago, but none of the stats/equipment have, and my pic disappeared. (and the stats weren't even up to date with the previous "last updated" message)

Nope, my stats have not changed since the first day I played (the 4th, I believe.)

At the risk of asking a stupid question...

Are the characters that aren't updating ones that were created with the (preview) Dragon Age Character Creator? It's just that I made a new character from scratch, and he loaded straight up - I didn't even do anything other than the opening dialogue...

It looks like there are multiple problems. It is uploading somewhat, but not all the time. Perhaps it has to do with the option to automatically upload, maybe the servers are overloaded, maybe ... I don't think it matters. Bioware will fix it. My character data is about a day behind on the upload, but it does get there eventually. I've done manual saves, but I don't often choose the 'online profile' option from the main menu - maybe that has something to do with it.. (PC version here btw)

This is a new system, and working out all the kinks will take some time, especially with the server load over the past week contributing to the situation (I'm just guessing..) but I know they will get it fixed - I have faith in Bioware :)

My Stats were only updated once and that was the first day or 2.

Again, my achievements from last night are there and my screenshots upload fine.

I have the PC version and have it set up to upload to the online profile. My character was created through the game itself.

What is the "Story" stuff on the updates? I see little One-liners "About the axe Aodh..." and such, but when I click them, I get a blank popup with, "The specified game does not support online player profiles." It seems like a pretty neat idea. Does it do more for anyone else (Xbox)?

I see that your character is up to date, but mine hasn't been updated since the 5th of november. Currently have a level 16 Human Noble, but shows as level 7 still. I did load him from the early char creation, but changed a few things on his appearance I wasn't happy with. I do hard saves, have automatic upload enabled yada yada.

I created all 6 of my characters using the pre-release character creator.

I am on a PC and have the CE with almost all the DLC (I purchased from Amazon, so I have the Lion Paws Boots for pre-order, I'm missing one item that I've not yet unlocked from Journeys.)

My game was installed on the 3rd. I first played on the 4th and got my character to probably 5th level.

Character is currently 8th level, site still lists her as 3rd. I can upload screenshots, however, no problem (I think it's working right.) My achievements were up to date until a couple days ago, and now I am pretty sure they aren't even updated.

I have 20+ profile views, if that matters (and that is STUPID if it does.)

I both manual save and quick save. I have tried unequipping everything and manually saving several times, to no avail.

I am positive that I've jumped through enough hoops - this must be a server / social site issue. I know Bioware is busy and is working on fixing things, and that this is a beta site, so I'm not trying to sound impatient - I'm just explaining my situation in case it helps solve the problem for everyone.

Dragonage customer support:

You will need to login using the PW for this site and your e-mail address.

I have already opened up a case on the chaching issue. More complaints may move to give this issue a higher priority. Or at least an acknowledgement of the problem on this BETA site

There is a process here, people. Complaints and rants on forums do not find their intended recipient.

That's all well and good (and I'm sure I'm not the only one who HAS emailed them through help) but this forum is titled "Social.bioware.com Site Help" with the description "Help with this website."  So forgive me (and others) for trying to use the forums for what they appear to be designed for - I don't think most of us (myself specifically) are ranting or complaining - just pointing out that this is still a problem and all the so-far suggested "fixes" haven't solved these problems.
I'm fairly certain that posting the problems here on this forum is exactly what we are supposed to do, sir. :P

If your profile isn't working, did you update to the 1.01 patch. I did not. I noticed that one of the fixes was a potential corruption of character statistics. I didn't know if that meant anything.

Anyway, I'm trying to see if it's worth patching.

Actually I stand corrected. This is the appropriate place, but as I have posted on many other very similar threads.

The developer team is aware of and is working on the problems associated with the DAO and social.bioware.net servers. It is a complicated infrastructure and it is best to be patient.

patching doesn't help.

Anyway, my profile never updates. However three characters that I deleted keep returning. Even though I deleted them both locally and via manage characters. They just return again every couple of hours or so. But my real character? Nowhere to be seen.

Achievements work though, so that's something.

Moxavian, when it's working properly the story box usually has a paragraph or so about an event. It's similar (or identical) to what goes into your journal in-game.

New character, it didn't get uploaded, but it erased all my achievements from the site instead, and just shows the two I got with the new character.

Ohwell.

I have the PC version of the game and while my achievements certainly update, my characters are not. All are still level 1 despite having two level 7+ characters now (Dalish Elf and Dwarf Commoner Rogues).

Hopefully this is being looked into.

Where do you find your character profile? Is it under my games?
