I tried to switch to the infiltrater class but just could not enjoy it. Nothing stops my vanguard with slam and assault rifle bonuses.Posted Image

Strange, I'm the opposite. I'm loving my Infiltrator and I hated being a Vanguard. I don't like that sort of suicidal gameplay.

its only suicidal if you don't know how to play as a vangaurd. Heavy charge, shotgun blast, spray the assault rifle, slam the next enemy and then charge to next. With the powers being mapped to buttons in me2 I can decimate all as a vanguard faster and more efficient than in the first. Slam is a must have bonus power and so is the assault rifle.

What's suicidal about vanguard? Any class can get shot like an idiot and die lol. Just like every class, if you know what your doing, shouldn't be a problem. Vanguard is by far my fav class in the game & most fun to play. And before you go saying oh maybe on normal, I play on insanity. Very fun & doesnt feel "cheap" so to speak, like say infiltrator or sentinel.

Of course this is all just my opinion. :)

I loved the suicidal Vanguard who was more like "the great biotic wind" in ME1, but he was changed so much in terms of gameplay that I couldn't enjoy him this time around.

So, yeah, enjoying Sentinel and Infiltrator this time around instead of Vanguard.

I always love the conversation I have with myself playing the game as a vanguard...

Oh man he is so far away!

...oh wait I can charge from the other side of the map

...gyeaahh..

-oh, wait, there's more than just him...

oh crap oh crap

find cover...

find cover!

fuuuu---

I'm dead =(

Yea. I'm having a little difficulty switching from biotic classes to tech classes in ME2. My first two playthroughs were as a vanguard and an adept, and now I'm playing an Engineer. Hardest ****ing change of playstyle EVER.

Yeah I love vanguard. I keep trying to play something else but I feel naked without my Biotic charge.

I was a us army ranger in real life so the vanguard is the only class that feels right to me. Close quarter combat, hand to hand, no fear.............................I just cannot be anything but an earthborn war hero vangaurd.

Only difference on insanity is that area reave & drones are a must. Thats it, still able to charge and take out a group of 3 at most. long as the shields are down or really low  there's nothing stopping you. Unless you charge out into the open like a ******.

Yeah the Vanguard is fun specially since my first play was Adept and my second Infiltrator so playin as the Van is a good time. Though I havn't decided on the best heavy weapon for the Van. I just used the Cain with my first two characters

I've finished a Vanguard.

Kept thinking "Hmm, if only I had a good move to use here".

Heavy Shotgun? Sucks. I picked up SR's on the Collector Ship.

Charge? Situational

Powerset? lacking.

Adept, Infil ftw.

I find that I can only really enjoy the Soldier.

And yet I still want to carry more guns.

I seem to have this same problem with the soldier. I really want to play another class through but I keep coming back. I just recently got an infiltrator up past the collector ship then went meh and started a soldier for an insanity run taking it all the way through. There's just something very enjoyable about it for me.

All comes down to personal preference, I found all classes but vanguard pretty boring. After adding collectors rifle to my arsenal...didnt even see a need to change classes, perfect setup. Tried Sentinel, infiltrator, adept, all but sentinel was boring as hell. But sentinel was just so damn powerful kinda took the fun out of it. Not to mention how damn ugly & bulky I look with the tech shield up.

Vanguard was by far my favorite class in ME1, and my first playthrough in ME2 was as a Vanguard. I still enjoyed it, but with the nerfed shotguns in this game they're not quite what they used to be. I think they need a well-chosen bonus talent to really shine. I've yet to try them with the new Cerberus shotgun, either.

It was still a lot of fun to Charge someone and then blast them in the face with my shotty, though. B)

Am I the only one who picked the Sentinel from a non-meta-game perspective?

With all of the classes getting revamped in ME2, they all have a very distinct flavor, most of them different from ME1. I played a Vanguard in ME1, but it felt like more of a generic Adept/Soldier combo instead of a CQB focus then, as well as having stronger defenses.

The Sentinel just felt super-generic and completely without focus then, but it's turned into a defensive monster in ME2. It has tools to deal with everything but lacks any focus and the ability to burst, so fights are won by grinding the enemy down. Having picked up a shotgun in the Collector ship, and specialized as a Raider with Assault Armor, I've essentially tuned my Sentinel into a mid-to-close-range defensive grinder. It fits my playstyle perfectly.

All classes are awesome and a ton of fun for me to play except Adept.

I played Adept for 2 hours and said, Screw this! Too weak!

I just started a Renegade FemShep Vanguard.

Infiltrator sounds like a ton of fun, but for the moment the Charge is sick.
