I'm on Freedom's Progress, looking for Veetor. We just took out some Assault Drones, and now I can't go anywhere because my squad is stuck firing on an enemy that's no longer there. We killed all the drones, but they keep shooting at nothing. I'm totally stuck... I can't go forward, presumably because the game thinks I haven't finished all the enemies yet. Going back does nothing, as well.
Has anyone else experienced this?? This is crazy - reading these forums it appears that ME2 has a TON of bugs!
Invisible Enemy??

It might have a ton of bugs, but it sounds like you just need one bad one to ruin your night
Restarted/reloading hasn't helped at all?

Just reload your last autosave.

Start a new game perhaps? You aren't very much far in the game, I have yet to encounter a game-breaking bug. ME1 had loads for me.

The same thing happened to me when i defeated Capt. Wasea. I simply loaded the autosave and gave her another beating.

Funny, have exact same problem. Doesn't help that your squad goes crazy and shoots in every direction.

I just encountered this and reloaded. I think it occurs if the drone hasn't exploded - the drone seems to only fully "die" after the explosion (the name tag only disappears then). I'm guessing the drone has flown in some place and not detonated (In my case I think it flew behind some blocks) so your companions and the game still "think" the drone is alive. No reason to start from the beginning as someone suggested.
ps. total necro but in case someone still bumps into this problem and wonders (like I did)

Just hit this on my 3rd character build in ME2, from before the event / mission doesn't solve it.
No time to sit through another half hour of unstoppable cutscenes, so not gonna restart the whole game now.
You know, just a little bit of thoughtfulness could have eliminated most of the irritation in this game. Like, being able to skip huge cutscenes.
Also, the "scripting" in the scene prevents you from opening the door to the next area until you kill the invulnerable / invisible drone. The more scripted the games are, the worse the bugs.

yeah this happens from time to time for me also, they can get stuck or fall through the map, normally after a biotic pull or throw etc, the cyber dogs being the biggest culprits for me, it they end up on a box or somthing, they fall through terrain, and ur squad tries to kill them, but cant.
reload

Exactly this! That's what causes it. The same thing had happened to me in Mass Effect 1 - Bring Down The Sky.
The only solution is to reload!

The fact that the biotic use of "pull" & "throw" is a standard MO makes the appearance of this bug a fail for Bioware. Im short its counter productive, if your not going to accomodate the skill used, why include it in the mass effect package?
