So if you married either Anora or Alistair how will people react to you in the expansion since you are technically King/Queen. Do you get any measure of power or are you just the same as before.

I've looked and looked for the same question and I haven't seen anything yet. It's driving me crazy!

You should be king/queen, although whether you will be in the expansion is still unknown.

Don't bet on being much more than a figurehead IMHO. You obviously still have to take care of business yourself.

My suspicion is that if the game recognizes that ending, that there will be some opening dialogue stating that you're stepping down from the throne to take care of Warden business and someone else, maybe Eamon, will act as Regent.

Will people call you "Your Highness" throughout the game? Will being the ruler of Ferelden get you discounts on goodies in Amaranthine? Will you get to start the game with a purple robe, crown, and royal scepter? Being royalty, you also ought to start the game with a lot of wealth, too. Oh, and maybe whenever you scream "Pull!" a peasant should go flying through the air which you can shoot a crossbow at. Also, you should have a servant who follows you around everywhere offering to bathe you.

Like they said, I guess we find out on 3/16.

You don't get married until 6 months after the coronation at the end of Origins. The events in Awakening happen very soon after the archdemon is slain, so it may well be before the wedding. Thus, you wouldn't be queen/king-consort yet.

Excellent point. I predict a lot of disappointed people since Anora and Alistair no longer have to reference your relationship, I doubt they will bother recording the extra lines.

...as long as I'm not followed around by a minstrel who can't understand that my tactical retreats are tactical, dammit.

Very clever. Adds a more expansive scope to the prospect of DA2.

Indeed, I forgot that.
Hopefully this expansion, or the next one, shows our rise to power (should we want it).

In an interview with IGN a dev mentioned that who you left on the throne of Ferelden would be one of the bigger decisions that carry over along with the manner in which you killed the Arch Demon.

Nothing more than likely. It will be another of those choices, similar to the sacrificing that falls through the cracks.

Even if the romance is referenced in some form or another, I remember a dev saying that even if you married, you were still simply a "consort," or the like. You weren't officially considered King or Queen.

i've read it on the official site that no romance options are in the expansion so i'm thinking its going to be a case of you and alistair or anora aren't together and no explanation as to why which is totally stupid if that is the case but thats what always happens in rpg games i guess they run out of ideas for a nice happy ending

true, if they cared about the fans that spend their money on these games they would read up on what things we love about the games and what we hate and try to do something about it

i read it somewhere that it won't, it just wont let us act any further on the romance but its supposedly only for this expansion, lets hope that is true

Hehe. not really worried about that. Always been a wanderer / traveler. Never had any ambitions to rule a nation. Still I'm curious as how they can come up with a solution for it though. A life at court seems pretty boring compared to a life seeking out the rest of the spawn and kill them.

Given that there's a big pile of Grey Wardens in the expansion to tell you what you didn't want to hear at the end of origins, if you're female, it's likely the wedding gets called off :/
