I guess, that once you´ll import sacrfised character, you won´t die, but it´ll take a path of Morigan´s proposal, or so.
I expect the same. The ultimate sacrifice ending is just being ignored. The game simply doesn't acknowledge it.
Instead, the Dark Ritual is the 'default.' By DA 2, it will simply be canon.
Here's a thought: maybe bugs are not features.

Well it's written and is basically confirmed. I wouldn't take skepticism that far as to doubt what they wrote on the official site.

Simple, DA was already a year or so in development prior to Bioware being swallowed by EA, so it was able to be well made with an intricate story. Awakening didn't get that reprieve so it is clearly a rushed project under EA calling the shots. That is my theory at least.
Oh dear God... not this crap again.

Of course, they might not have specified who's choices their were talking about, ours or theirs
That said, on game that loads from on of our PC save I assume (which might be a big mistake) that it will follow the decisions imported from that save

I quote " an old favorite is returning" whose old favorite....Ohgren? *wrinkles her nose in amusement*
I think you can check my prior posts in regards to this issue..where I specifically asked the question...WHOSE old favorite. From what I see on these fora.....it certainly had nothing to do with alot of people's favorites..it had to do with Bioware's....and why on earth they picked him is beyond me.
He is FAR less interesting a character than..for example Sten...or Morrigan.
WHY is Wynne returning? Isn't she on her last legs..about to die when that "good spirit from the Fade"...leaves?
Loghain...I have killed off in ALL of my 12 playthroughs.......so yeah.
"Players' choices will carry through to Awakening"......
mmmm kay which ones were those again?
None?
Yeah that would be about right.

Why are you ranting at me? What I said has nothing to do with Oghren. So I have 0 interest in reading what you wrote about him, with all due respect.
What I quoted is clear. Loghain will appear depending on our choices. It's clear and written.
Loghain will not appear if you killed him. So relax.
If you want to doubt that, then go on right ahead.

Disappointed in your refusal, Morrigan secretly performed the ritual with Alistair. (Female PCs)
Disappointed in your refusal, Morrigan drugged your drink that night and performed the ritual on you without your consent. (Male PCs)
I can just see it now.
Male PC Cries: No, means no Morrigan! No means no!!!

Oghren afterall, got a really clouded story, I doubt all his years he walked around in Orzammar and then drank while whining for 2 years when Branka left him. Like the old saying goes: I believe there's more to him than meets the eye.
For Loghain, it is pretty obvious, he got a connection to the Deeproads and a clear story in Dragon Age through the books. I think it is a shame so many hate him just because he seems evil in the Origin. He is a hero and a strong character, you can see he made all the bad choices in the Origin with huge regret and thinking. I'd say Arl Howe was the real villain, not Loghain. So I believe he can bring an interesting story to Awakening and his true heroism.
Same goes for Wynne. Shes lived a long life and hell knows who what secrets she got, we got nothing uncovered. With the spirit in her, she could prove to become more of an important character to enhance the story than we think.
Overall, I think too many here go by the social part of what the game gave. The history, romance and sex. Bioware has said that they want to concentrate on the story more in Awakening instead of the social part. I don't see this as a bad thing to give it all up, it will only makes the game more awesome and perhaps we might see the true things, like the "death" of Duncan.

So if "Morrigan performed the ritual on you" (while you slept) does that mean she's a succubus? lol ..I saw a you-tube video where there is actually a Morrigan..some sort of Irish folk tale..and she's a succubus. Wonder if thats where the writers got her name from? Interesting.

I gotta give you guys credit. This forum can set fire to the village like nothing else but at least you do it funny.
Has anyone found for sure any word that you can't import your game decisions, leave your warden dead, and make a new Orlesian PC? That this whole 'waving hand mystery pixie escape the sacrifice' deal isnt just another option for people who want to do it that way?

Why they picked characters like Oghren and Loghain? Could be because they got such a clouded backgrounds apart from all the other party members and being the ONLY ones who is or could be connected to the Deeproads and the grand story what is going on in Awakening.

What do you mean by that..."the true things, like the "death" of Duncan? I suspect I know but ..just the same would be nicer to have clarification.

She could have done it with Riordan. And since Riordan is dead, we can never know for sure. It can work, but it would be very cheap on Bioware's part.

Nope, there isn't any further clarification anywhere, and if we even get further info, wouldn't be till sometime tomorrow at the earliest.
