Yes, lame indeed. Maybe some future mods will help in that matter.

Why go through the added effort of making certain items that not everyone has in their game importable when you'll more then likely be equipped with better gear half an hour into the game.

Because I want to start the expansion with good gear to kill enemies to loot their better gear?

Frankly I am completely mystefied how the FAQ says DLC items will not work, but mod items probably will.

as if you won't be able to  do that with the gear you are wearing in the expansion? As if You'll start off with simple commoner clothes and a stick and you need to fight a Hurlock general the first 2 seconds of the game

Oh, I'm sure you'll get by just fine with the Tier 7 stuff.

I sold many (now) crucial items because the DLC equipment was better. What shall I do with now with my main weapon gone (Star Fang). The blood gorged medallion helped a lot to raise my constitution by +12. Gone too.

Use the ton of gold you have to buy the gear you need in Awakening.

unless your dexterity is like 5 or 10 you don't need more than 15 constitution

If you actually look at the stats, most of that equipment is only slightly better than even basic equipment. A Warrior with, say 70 strength, isn't going to suddenly crippled if he has to swing for 4 points less of damage.

I wonder if a lot of warrior PCs will start off in their undies in Awakening. :-)

Nah I'm sure they'll stick them in some default clothing for the opening scenes.

I certainly hope so but you never know. The way they work around the Warden's possible death doesn't makes me uncomfortable.

I always play as a tank,  I have 42+25 constitution and I really need it since I wield a slow two handed sword. I enjoy sucking up blow after blow without going down with 540 HP. But now with the medaillion gone con will drop significantly.

Well, my warrior will still have Duncan's Shield. I can mug the Dead Legion set off of Ohgren. Now, what the hell did I do with Topsider's Honor?

It'll have to be Wade's Superior Dragon Scale full plate Set, Corruption, Duncan's Shield or Dragonbone Tower Shield, Keening Blade & Falon'Din's Reach for me.
Hopefully there'll be a Wade's warden commander full plate set in the expansion. Image IPB

Seriously, I can't understand the technical difficulty behind allowing dlc items to appear in the Expansion. Bioware < than Blizzard as technical game developer.

Half an hour into the expansion people will be much less bothered about this issue and recognise that in the great scheme of the game it is a trivial one. I can kind of understand why it is occupying people's attention at present but I think this is pretty much a non-issue.

Interesting, so people bought these packs strictly for the items, got nothing else out of them, and didn't get to use them for say 30-50 hours in Origins and will continue to be able to use them whenever they load up Origins, and the fact you won't ever really use it in Awakening due to the fact that the gear will quickly be outclassed holds no water apparently. Would the added hassle and effort needed to make it function properly really be wroth it in the end or would that time and constant testing be better spent elsewhere.

-I didn't buy RTO strictly for the items, but considering how short it was, I would have felt cheated without the items.
-I didn't use those items for 30-50 hours. In fact, I doubt if I used them for 5 hours.
-I won't likely load up Origins again. Four times is enough.
-The argument that I won't use it in Awakenings doesn't hold water. It's a huge assumption. You don't know what gear will be available, and you don't know how I choose my gear.
-I doubt the time and effort required to include these items would really be all that significant. They can pull some money from Mass Defect's advertising budget to pay the overtime.
