I wonder if a lot of warrior PCs will start off in their undies in Awakening. :-)

Undies? If that happens I'll start with a full Pictus Erectus, thanks to great mods out there! =)
Any news on release date? If my country is left behind by EA, like they use to sometimes... (ME2 is out only for Xbox here... grrrr)

Well I just got RtO and bought Awakening on the same day, and played it right away... I'm already fully done with the Original Game and I was pretty confused when I started Awakening that half of my Inventory was missing!!!! Starfang with runes, belt, my beloved Bow and Calins Armor that I put onto Alistair...

Even if better stuff will come around during gameplay it still kinda sucks guys....

Fail character transfer.

Lost a sale BioWare. Was planning on picking this up, and was hoping that you'd change your mind as it got closer to release. Now that the release is today, and you are still ignoring the fact that people want all of their gear to come with them, then I can ignore your attempts to milk further money from my pockets on this franchise.

I played through a second time to improve my charater for this expansion.

I PAID for the warden keep download JUST for the commanders armor for this expansion.

I also spent 3 gransmasters runes on the starfang so I would be ready for this expansion.

Bioware, if you are going to SCREW us on content we pay for, how about dinner and kiss first.

I have been waiting on pins and needles for this expansion. Now all I can say is YOU SUCK...

It a inconsistency though that Starfang was made from meteoritic ore which sounds very exotic and durable and probably stated from the smith that its all powerful. Feels like a downgrade from that stand point although stats say otherwise.

I'm pissed; I went out and bought it today and was planning to spend the day playing it.

Now?  I'm a mix of nerd rage, confusion, and annoyance.  This is just so damned retarded.

Did you really need them to beat the game?  You know the game can be beaten either naked or with just store bought gear?

Did you know that it's damn annoying and retarded to have to go back to your previous save to retool all your gear just so you don't zone naked in the expansion because the game devs lack the common sense, decency, and competency to fix all bugs before releasing a game?

Did you know that?

Damn useless fanboys.

So should I just sell EVERY DLC item I paid for in good faith or is this problem gonna get addresed because Ogrhen and I are both wearing and wielding Dlc items?

Oh, they'll address it.

After you've played through the game twice.

Actually i am the furthest thing from a fanboy of this game.  If anything i think the game is an utter disappointment in almost every aspect of an RPG game.  Not being able to port over your gear from the previous game is not surprising to me.  Bioware has done this in the past so you should have actually expected it. The last official word was they were "investigating the possibility of a patch"

Dragon Age: Origins DLC (from DAO or other prior DLC) is not available in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening as we've already said.

While I know some fans are not happy with this, the main reason is, due to the advanced level of Awakening, the items you want to bring in would be rapidly less effective than the materials you start with or find early on in the game. Yes, in DA:O Starfang (or similar) are very powerful, but since you can reach level 30+ in Awakening, they would be ineffectual.

Trust me, there are heaps of cool new armors, weapons, spells, etc that you will want to use in Awakening that you will quickly learn to appreciate even more than your DLC items from DAO. :)

This makes it even less appealing to buy.
I suggest you patch it so it does or else awakening is gonna get alot of bad 'forum' press because of it.

We paid for our DLC, why wouldn't it carry over?  using the level BS is just hiding behind a "we don't have a good answer".

Not true.  I had all this gear when I started a new Awakenings game with an Origins character.

I've purchased Origins & Awakening for pc
i'll try to find time to write a review and maybe look/work on the tool set

without a doubt I am having some mixed (mostly negative) feelings about this whole shebang
I can tell you one thing though, I'll definitely be wary of any future products/dlc from Bioware considering their attitude and public stance on their products.
