god this is retarded, why didnt they let us use our dlc items. I lived my dragon blood and wardens armor. Turning on awakening and seeing my toon walking down the road naked was really retarded. What a ripoff, i mean whats the point of dlc if you cant use it in the expansions?

Bioware please put out a patch soon and let us have our dlc, there is just no reason to not allow us to have it.

I was tired of staring at the blood dragon armor anyway. I'm glad I get an excuse to start fresh

hell, the Warden Commander armor was glitched anyway! it didn't give us a stat bonus for wearing the entire set

this reminds me when I was about to play DLC in Fallout 3. I could have brought my god armor and weapons and breezed through the story, but I said screw it. I went in naked, wearing only whatever I could find off enemies. it was a great and challenging experience

That's not how patches work. DLC not getting in is not a glitch. Although, given that random DLC does, it may be.

I'm sure the nearly 3000 people that downloaded the awakening dlc-importing mod the first 2 days of release are on the fast track to appreciating your decision.

I fully expect to replace my gear early on, but man was it every disappointing, weird, and quite frankly a bit disturbing, to find my character (the new commander of the Grey Wardens) walking around in his undies.

Had to pause the game at the very start of the expansion, and come check these forums to see if anyone else was experiencing the same bug that I was... but I guess it wasn't a bug after all. :(

Oh well... guess I'll have to check my inventory, and hope that I have at least some spare armor laying around, so that I don't have to start of fighting in my undies, since Bioware stole my Blood Dragon Armor. :crying:

Whatever it is or may be called, down the road when BioWare comes up with a way to import all the DLC content, I do not want to be the guy who sold all his DLC items couple days-weeks-months ago just because at that time they could not be transferred.
Even though I liked all the stuff I had from DLC and would have kept it as long as my backpack could carry, I guess there isn't much choice as a console owner with no modding capabilities.
We can all either buy the expansion - play it with all the hate and resentment or accept our fate, swallow our tears and hope we get some good stuff eventually that will make us forget what we had.
Ooor my favorite option, just wait until X-mas and ask Santa to make BioWare come up with a solution if they have not by than based on this much "love" they got from their dedicated fans.

It's a little bit of work but most, if not all, the DLC items could be remade by users. You may not get the spiffy models, but the properties could be done.

Considering how worthless you consider your own DLC I guess I don't need to invest in it anymore, either.

Dragon Age: Origins DLC (from DAO or other prior DLC) is not available in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening as we've already said.

While I know some fans are not happy with this, the main reason is, due to the advanced level of Awakening, the items you want to bring in would be rapidly less effective than the materials you start with or find early on in the game. Yes, in DA:O Starfang (or similar) are very powerful, but since you can reach level 30+ in Awakening, they would be ineffectual.

Trust me, there are heaps of cool new armors, weapons, spells, etc that you will want to use in Awakening that you will quickly learn to appreciate even more than your DLC items from DAO. :)

You know how fun it is when you have Starfang as your main weapon, and than you import you character into Awakening and endup fighting unarmed until some rusty toothpick drops, or if you were wearing blood dragon armor and find yourself naked and unarmed? Awesome, right?

Yeah yeah, we've heard this all before. The armours in Awakening aren't exactly amazing for Arcane Warriors.

To peeps who love the look of the WC armor: Apparently, there is a bug that makes a certain set look like a Warden Commander set if you have Warden's Keep DLC. Unfortunately, imho the set itself looks soooo much better than the WC.
Even though I got the expansion the other day, I think I'll wait at least couple weeks or a month until they come up with patches or whatever they need to do to fix these kinda problems.

p.s: It's called the Sentinel Armor.

Thanks for robbing me.  I really appreciate dropping 10 bucks on extra content that I can't use.

And that argument does not work.  What if I bring in Summer's Sword, all around weaker than Starfang.  Your argument absolutely falls apart.  If a player is allowed to bring in weaker, core items, then not allowing stronger DLC items on the basis that the player will get much better items is flat-out wrong.  I don't even understand how you can post that without actually thinking about what you said.  Why can I import a warrior Warden with Tier 3 leather armor and a iron dagger, but not a Warden decked out in Warden's Commander and Starfang?

I haven't bought Awakening yet, but I'm interested to hear that if you were using DLC gear you'll be fighting your first battle unarmed and/or naked. How hard is it?

I can't understand the posts that say easily 'you will find better items some minutes in the game' because of the issue with missing DLC items.

I'm not playing an action game, I'm playing a RPG! And as a roleplayer sometimes not only the values of the items count, its about atmosphere! So when I had an warden armor in Origins then I want to have it still in Awakening, especially when I'm in the story now the commander of it.

It's so retarded...

Probably my best character used Warden Commander gear and Starfang; who cares if stuffs better? You replace the gear as you go along, you don't just throw your guys out there bare bumed and unarmed! (which is literally the case).

Also, why is this exclusive to the Warden Commander + Starfang set and not what you find when you return to Ostagar? Which is essentually the same level? Doesn't make sense!

As Omar said, thanks for robbing me...

Hmm...Cailan's Armor, Spellweaver..etc imported ok. No Lion's Paw so bare feet .

Second time when I found out I just loaded up before last save in DAO and was ok.

There are fixes for PC version...I've gotten back my Lion's Paw boots...

I've noticed you can upgrade most DAO items that make it to Level 7 if you sell to the keep blacksmith.

In some ways it would be better if they nerfed all the equiptment because with Runes on armor your character

is overwhelming...

Wait, some people actually imported and turned up naked? LOL. I've only imported my mage so she had all her items. Must have been a total mood killer.

That's great, but due to this decision my warrior starts the game with no weapon and my mage is totally naked.  If that's not bad enough, we're also thrown straight into combat.  Personally I'd rather have rapidly out of date equipment than no equipment at all.

I know we can go back into Origins and create a new save with import friendly equipment but we shouldn't have to.  Aside from continuity and breaking the immersion that importing a character is supposed to achieve, it's also very sloppy.

At the very least we should have a generic set of weapons and armor, similar to what a new character would get (I've not created a new character but I'm assuming they don't start naked).

I wonder if a lot of warrior PCs will start off in their undies in Awakening. :-)

Yes :(.

Just lame Bioware the DLC's were a complete rip-off maybe one hour of gameplay and we can't even import the equipment with us. And anything companions had on them is now gone too. I had a feeling this kind of BS would happen. I have only played for a few minutes in the expansion but already I'm ticked off by that. I know there will be better gear It's just the principle of the thing. See, I like to collect things...that chest in the wardens keep dlc was great I got to keep all the cool unique items/equipment in the game and had it all on me when I imported only to come out on the other side naked punching darkspawn :?.

Also one random thought....if Dog, the Mahabri has been fighting Darkspawn wouldn't it get sick from the tained blood? I mean after every fight encounter I had it eat all the darkspawn too. So....what I'm asking is can I have a Bark-Spawn please:D?

Meh anyway I guess no big deal I got to have fun with the stuff but now it's gone. I liked the mod for the runic armor the best but the warden commander armor was great too sad to see it disapear.
