Cure it, but restrict Krogan from colonizing so that they never reach galaxy-threatening numbers.

If Wrex can pull things off it might turn out good. On the playthroughs that he is leading the clan I keep the data, mostly, just incase. On those that he does not I toss it aside... Generally I am in favour of the genophage until the Krogan can convince me they can leave peacefully too.

Right now it seems too dangerous for me to cure the genophage. If they would become more like Wrex then sure.
And the genophage does not make them extinct as it is... at least, Mordin carefully explains they are keeping the population stable.

Regardless of the Reapers, the genophage must be cured. The Salarians played god by taking the Kro's into outerspace before they were ready, and gave them advanced technology so they could be used to fight the Rachni. They then played god again by creating the genophage. If there is anyone who needs to be punished and own up to their mistakes, its the Salarians.

The genophage problem really makes you think... But, I have made my own decision. I will cure the genophage. But only because I trust that Wrex can lead the Krogans to a better future. I hope that Wrex will rise to be the "king" of all Krogan. And as a good friend of Wrex, I will cure the genophage. And Wrex makes sure that the Krogan will fight the Reapers, and not other species in the galaxy.

I cured it no issue, Really After geth, Thorians, and reapers the krogans don't seem like that they be that hard to fight back, they got number but sine the genophage there technology has really dropped next to the other races relaying heavily on other races tech. So it simple be a task of keeping dibs on there technology, numbers or not if your ship blows up with many people inside it going to hurt.

Due to circumstances it needs to be cured (imo). The Galaxy needs an army, and it needs it now. Krogan breed fast and mature fast, hopefully we can have a full-sized Krogan army to fight the Reapers. However, afterwards the Genophage will need to be reapplied (again imo) but not as effective (So that the Krogan population grows, but not quick enough for them to effectively war against the council).

That, for me, would be the ideal situation.

And frankly here my 2 cents, there actually was another option that wasn't as drastic, as we know the genophage effect birth making 1 in 1000 live... here my question why not have made the genopahe a sterile plague, as in 1 in 1000 males and maybe 2-5 in 1000 females are able to reproduce while the rest are sterile and cannot, people wouldn't of died and killed back there number by large amounts.

Also on a funny note: How did krogans avoid over population before hand O.o

The Krogan being removed from Tuchanka is like the introduction of the Cane Toad to Australia. Moving a species from its habitat into an area with none of its natural predators has been shown time and time again to be devastating. If the Krogan hadn't been uplifted by the Salarians, they presumably wouldn't have developed proper space flight until their culture had advanced beyond relentless barbarism - it would have had to, because as they are now the Krogan are only interested in fighting and developing weaponry. When the Salarians found them the Krogan had already destroyed their own planet through nuclear war - they clearly weren't ready for any higher technology.

So, while I like the Krogan and the situation they're in isn't their fault (they're just behaving as they have evolved to), they certainly can't be allowed to return to the pre-genophage growth rate until their culture has developed. I had Mordin keep the data, for when that day comes.

Wrex is a good start. Forward thinkers like him are what the Krogan need. The only reason he decided to become the leader of the Krogan is because of the genophage - without it, he wouldn't have had any reason to take charge. Curing the genophage now would undo everything Wrex has accomplished, and while he himself would probably be happy about it, a second Krogan Rebellion would be all but assured.

Tuchanka is one of the deadliest planets around, with practically every species being a horrifying predator.

I agree with pretty much everything you say here.
The Krogan should have never achieved space flight capabilities and the Salarians are to blame for that. No doubt that is also why they were the ones developing the genophage. If the Krogan would have developed naturally they would have eventually 'cooled off'. That or their nuclear wars would have exterminated them... Either way they would have evolved at a better rate than they do now. They're barbarians with extremely highly developed technology.

I would like to give the cure to the Blood Pack so Clan Weyrloc can enjoy those Salarian eggs.

Yeah -- before the invention of gunpowder, "death by predator" was the most common cause of death on Tuchanka. (After gunpowder, it was "death by gunshot".)

That always made me smile when i read that in the codex.

Although Wrex leading clan Urdnot is possibly the best thing to have happened to the Krogan, his entire leverage on the other clans is based on his control of the female clans, who he encouraged to make their camp inside neutral/urdnot controlled territory.
If the genophage was cured, then the clans will have no reason to cooperate, and end up fighting amongst eachother again.

Keep the genophage as it is.

Of course, with Grunt being the first tank-bred accepted to a clan, its a possibility that the stigma around tankbreeds will lower.
Maybe tank-bred krogan will be the way forward. Geneticaly superior, and the birth rates are completely artificialy controlled.
They'd just need a way of replicating the collector technology tank.

I did choose the cure - maybe the krogan learned something this time. If not, I'm sure the salarians can whip up another virus.

I say leave the genophage as it is, leave Wrex in charge, and let Wrex's ideas permeate the krogan race for at least one krogan lifetime, so that all the old traditionalists like Gatatog Uvenk are dead. Then, assuming the krogan culture has altered to be more in line with Wrex's vision, consider curing the genophage, or at least making it less effective.

Wrex in charge, defo cure the genophage through in ME2 I actually chose to keep it and hold on to it.

When I found out on Mordin's loyalty quest that Wrex didn't even consider the genophage's cure enough to warrant the horrors there, knowing full well how desperate he was to see his people cured of it from ME1, I knew curing it would turn out okay.

Let's not also forget Krogan live for along time so Wrex should hopefully lead for quite some time.

Ya I kept the Data, but Didn't Cure the Genophage, while my character is full paragon with a hint of Renegade, He realizes that the 'phage is a necessary evil. (plus I have the Rachni and rewritten Geth)

You're forgetting that the only reason Wrex commands so much power is because of the effects of the genophage. Without it, clan leaders like Uvenk would never follow him. So in curing the genophage, you've entirely screwed with Wrex's plans, and also gone against his wishes in using data obtained through methods that Wrex found entirely questionable.

Then just give the genophage cure to Urdnot which will allow their ranks to increase significantly over the others, not to mention many of their rival clans have been fried throughout our missions on Tuchunka.

I think BioWare wil see only black and white:

Keep the cure==Cure the genophage (IMO krogan help you against the Reapers, but they revolt afterwards)
Destroy the cure==Don't cure it

IMO BioWare won't give us a choice to "cure it for now, then after the reapers are defeated make them sick again", or "keep the cure, but destroy it in ME3" or "cure it, but restrict Krogan from colonizing" or anything similar

I cured it.

Three main reasons why:
1. The genophage doesn't kill people, as Mordin insists. But it has killed Krogan CULTURE. A sense of loss permeates Tuchanka, and especially Mordin's mission. The mother who gave herself to experiments, the prisoner who is being cured and refuses to leave (initially) when you rescue him...these are a people with no hope for the future.
2. If it's not the Krogans, it's someone else. Mordin's assistant points out that the Salarians played God with the Krogan to make the Galaxy safe. And they failed. The Galaxy is still dangerous. You still had an almost-major war between humanity and the Turians, the Geth-Council fighting, and, of course, the threat of the Reapers. You can't stomp out every galactic threat in existence.
3. Wrex, Khan of the Krogan. I have a lot more faith in a rejuvenated Krogan nation with Wrex in charge.
