They where downgrades, but bearable downgrades.
What ticks me off is slowing down time for sniping, with no scope shake.

I am not sure if anyone else already brought this up but the heat sinks and the helmet issue do not really bother me.. the reasoning and justification do. I have heard that bioware meant to not be able to remove your headgear all along and that it doesn't mess with the realism... it's just kind of insulting I would of been okay if there was a better reason than the one we all got. As I said before the heat sinks are alright but every time I see the load screen that says 'state of the art' weapons use heat sinks really gets to me. It's like saying oh you don't want that android anymore... take this eighties limo car phone instead... it is much better and cutting edge. anyway, I am sure what I have said has been gone over many times I just wanted to put my two cents in. none of this means I will stop playing bioware games though.

The weapon mods were part of what made ME1 awesome, the fact that you could combine mods to make you guns almost never overheat was just good planning. But you are correct, the heatsinks are going to stick around, the damage is done. Maybe if the figured out away to not render your guns useless if you run out of heatsinks, I personally have not run out of them completely yet but I do like to snipe and so far I've only been able to get 14 rounds out of the anti-material rifle, so some missions make sniping difficult since baddies, more often than not, don't drop heatsinks.
Some very good points on your first post, but this quote got my attention.
Have you ever noticed that the Thermal clips the enemies drop only give you about one or two, to three at tops? In terms of ammo usage. Now all that is sound and proper if Bioware didn't opt for the ridiculous idea of having Thermal clips that are already present at level intervals RESPAWN!! This respawning makes the clips dropped by the enemies redundant! I mean, why have it respawned as opposed to simply having the enemies 'dropped' clips just give you more ammo instead? What the hell is with that design concept? Why have the enemies drop them at all?
I would much rather the dropped clips give you more ammos instead of theis respawning concept. It's a design flaw and one of laziness.
Also of note; why the hell can't I squat? My team mates can squat with out the needed aid of a wall or low cover crate. Seriously, what is the point of having two buttons assigned to one function? The two analogue sticks when pressed down (Xbox 360) give you the objective arrow or map... what the hell is with that?
I can assure you Bioware, that a squat function would have come in handy on many occasions...

I don't really have complaints, just a wish list.
1.More options when it comes to creating your Shepard's face. I would also like to play as the original shepard from the ME1 box art (see in video)
better hair styles, tattoos, more eyes and eyebrows, custom color mixer, ect.
2.I like the charm and intimidate system more than just limited renegade and paragon.
3.more armor options
4.multiple shepard voices
5.i want to be able to walk on the persidium again...
