Is there any bonus or incentive for an insanity play through? Othe than the knowledge that i owned the game on the highest setting?

Because I really cant see myself doing one, other than to just test myself, unless there is some kind of reason to do it?

That's all? OK then. And acchievements mean absolutely nothing on the PC version so....

I probably wont be playing many (if any) games on insanity.

Insanity is there for those of us who are nutty enough to like the reload button. :) Basically it gives you the chance to REALLY put a class through it's paces... but don't be fooled. You learn new swear words playing on insanity.

Depending on your mentality, Insanity is fun. I enjoy thinking of creative solutions to difficult problems. That does mean, however, don't use Soldier on Insanity if that's your thing as well, because my Soldier just breezed through Insanity shooting everything in the face. Sentinel and Adept were a helluva lot of fun though.

depends on individuals, I know a few people personally that likes to play games on easy mode or cheat codes even though the game is already easy on normal. I for one like to play on harder difficulties cause, just like what Darnalak said, it puts a class through it's pace and it's fun.

You should play insanity for the challenge, not for stickers. Insanity is too Easy IMO i want Masochism mode.

Insanity is just the mode ME players eventually move on to to really feel the adventure. It has the benefit over shooter "Uber-Hard" modes of not requiring twitch reflexes to beat, which is why it eventually sucks most people in. I'd suggest working your way up to it, starting with hardcore, but it's definitely a great way to replay ME, provided you have the reload button on hand.

Could someone maybe tell me difference between hardcore and insanity? I didnt see any guys having armors or whatnot on insanity that didnt have them on hc. Are the armors just stronger or w00t?

I started a Sentinel on Insanity and quit it after Horizon. Insanity isn't harder than Hardcore it's just boring. The only difference between Hardcore and Insanity I saw is that enemy defences and health go sky high. It was taking 5 heavy reaves to take down the armor or barrier of a normal enemy (over twice as many as on Hardcore).

I'd recommend sticking to Hardcore, especially on the PC as there is no incentive whatsoever to play Insanity.

Of course some people do like Insanity, this is just my opinion.

Its hard enough to be challenging, but not so much that I'm reloading all the time. I rarely died on my soldier, and so far on my adept I'm finding it to be about the same difficulty. Singularity warp bombs are fun, coupled with warp ammo makes for some pretty devastating stuff. This is just me though. Play on what you find suitable and if you find it starting to get too easy then move up.

The only incentive to play Hardcore or Insanity is if your a soldier or have the assault rifle specialty because you unlock the geth pulse rifle on talis recruit mission if you play it on hardcore or insanity.

I've got mixed feelings about Insanity. Sometimes it feels like it's just too hard, for the wrong reasons... like Banon Loire said; everything on the enemies goes sky high, but you're leveling doesn't seem to have any effect anymore. And it renders most skills you've got useless: just try to use the vanguard's charge on insanity, it's suicide!

All you Adepts out there; Do you really see ME2 insanity as a challenge?

I enjoyed running through ME on insanity because I had to/did pause every three seconds to make sure everything was OK, and it was the height of tactical thought.    It just seems ME2 insanity is a chance for Soldiers to use Adrenaline Rush a great deal but no "biotic godhood".

I tried Insanity on my Adept, gave up.

Then I tried it on a Soldier. It was like I was playing on Veteran. I breezed through it.

insanity is, imo, the most fun way to play. it forces you to master the shooter and squad mechanics. its not that hard, but it does not let you be rambo. the challenge makes the game feel more cinematic to me.

The reasoning behind it this time is that little "bleep-bloop" you get when you finish the game.

Don't play Insanity right out of the gate. Play normal, enjoy the story, then bump it up to hardcore/insanity. Personally, I think Hardcore provides just the right balance between difficulty and fun. Insanity's there when you're bored and just want that extra challenge.

Loving the challenge of Vanguard on insanity. Especially tough areas that take multiple tries to beat, you really have a feeling of satisfaction when you defeat the encounter.

In some situations, Insanity can be a lot of fun. Most of the time I found myself disliking it. It wasn't that challenging, it just seems to take FOREVER to actually kill stuff... especially low level. Battles can take all day depending on what your personal set up is; especially if your team mates decide not to listen to your orders and get themselves killed. Soldiers can breeze through it, but power classes (Engineer, Sentinel, Adept) are screwed when you run out of Medigel.

Additional plays, for me, will probably be on Veteran or Hardcore. I liked the tactical challenge Insanity provided; but I didn't like the slow down.

I want my 100% ME2, I got all the ME1 achievements and Insanity is the final ME2 achievement for me.

And Insanity is fairly fun, sometimes. After this I'll likely never play it again... but still. It's not as bad as I thought it would be.

Insanity this time around is actually fun. Unlike the nonsense that passed for insanity in ME 1. Good grief was that absolutely broken in every way.
