It seems through my playthrough keeping him alive was a good choice.

Getting to see him and Veetor take the stage was Epic to show that everyone loves Tali and she has done more for the Migrant Fleet than every Quarian combined.

But do you think going into ME3 with a romanced Tali will get Kal' Reegar upset? Maybe even cause a fight?

If you dont romance Tali I can really see both of them getting together in ME3.

I think he just respects her, he would be good for her if Shepard didn't romance her though

It is always possible, but the feeling I got from Kal is that he is through and through a military man and while he respects Tali and holds her in high regard I dont think he views her as a romantic interest. But ofcourse it is possible he is just pressing it down but I think a romance between Tali and Kal would have to be initiated by Tali. He seems more like the constant protector/brother type.

Most likely Kal is her fall-back guy if things dont work out with Sheppy

Even if she was romanced, I really think she'll be better off with Kal'Reegar than with maleShepard - first off all they can actually eat the same foods... plus Tali really loves her people, she wants to make life for her people better, and that means eventually she will want to return to her people...

Tali loves shepardt at the beginning when they met.There isnt a place for Kal Reegar.Only if shepardt dont want her in Mass Effect 2 she will search another partner.

I thought Kal'Reegar respected Tali as a honoured member of the fleet and as the sweetheart she is. He seems like a professional through and through. Whether he likes her as more than that is something that we can't comment on, because his behaviour towards her just shows respect.

Without intentionally trying to make this thread go bad places, I am pretty sure there are couples in the real world who are childless and don't consider themselves to be suffering.

Just because you're close to someone of the opposite sex doesn't mean you have to have romantic feelings towards them.

I loved how Bungie brought Nathan Fillian, Adam Baldwin, and Adam Tudyk together for both Halo 3 and ODST.  Always fun hearing the Firefly team taking verbal shots at each other.

Thats the wonderful thing about Science fiction is with talented writers the impossible becomes possible. If the writers thought it would enhance the story there is NOTHING stopping them from putting in that Sheppard and Tali settle down and have a family. Same thing if Sheppard took up the breading request on the Krogan homeworld LOL.

Except that they already outlined some very basics (their DNA doesn't even have the same base componets) which make a "traditional" family impossible.

Say this over and over again "There will be no Tali-Shep babies" until it sinks in.

Is having children essential for long term happiness? That's a completely different and personal question, but the turth of the matter is that after infidelity, children (having them, wanting them, inability to have them) is the biggest cause of marital discord.... and that is when both partners are of the same species, probably similar cultures, and compatible physiology.

Long term love prospects don't look good for Tali and Shep.

While I did get the vibe that Kal'Reegar likes Tali from his casual referrals of her ("Say hi to Tali for me!"... right before he socks a Geth Colossus with a missile), Reegar also seems to respect any decision that Tali might make. Afterall, he didn't object to Tali joining up with Shepard on the Normandy. I think it's more respect than an actual love interest.



Do also note that Tali has been said to have liked Shepard since the beginning: Kelly tells you as much from her observations of Tali. Tali would no doubt go for Shepard first unless she gets dumped (which you are free to do so of course).



Nonetheless, I do believe Kal'Reegar is too much a gentleman to actually try and fight with Shepard for Tali's affections. Both will simply unite as brothers-in-arms and kick Geth ass anyday.
