Then the US version should have more horrific violence but no sex scenes, instead tasteful hand holding.

Indeed. Everyone I have spoken to said they felt gypped, unrewarded, and the only word they were left with after working towards that scene was "Lame". Which I would think is the last word a developer should want anyone to think of during any part of their game.Bachuck wrote...
I thought the sex scene in ME1 was very well done. Most gamers (or parents) might be more concerned with its brief flashes of virtual flesh, but I was more impressed with the level of intimacy the scene portrayed. It felt like there was a real connection between the characters.
In ME2, the scenes felt like a cheat, as if they wanted to show them but avoid as much controversy as possible. In that regard, they lacked the maturity of ME1 and come off worse. I think the romances were improved (the dialogue between the characters), but the actually act of consummation came off a bit silly.
No one expected full frontal or anything, but they expected to be rewarded with a little more than just a shot of a ceiling.
funny thing is, the scenes even without any butts or skin, are still such that if mom or dad walked in o 10 year-old johnny playing them that they would still take the disc away from him. Only difference is that for adult owners of the game, the scene is comically tame. So essentially Bioware accomplished nothing in neutering the scene.
Truth.
At least it wasn't like Dragon Age. THAT was funny.

They should tone down the violence for the European versions and then up the nudity factor

Yes haha. For the US version they should have exploding heads, legless organic enemies crawling around weeping and lamenting that they'll never see their children again, people begging Shepard not to kill them, intestines strewn all over battlefields, people screaming and clutching severed stumps as they bleed out, etc., and the only LI should be Tali because she doesn't show as much ankle as the other ones.
The guns in the European/Australian versions can fire flowers which make the enemies giggle with glee and leave the battlefield

DAO = Implied nudity Sex scene cut aways
ME2 = Implied Sex scene cut aways
At this rate you won't have to worry about sex scenes in ME3. And I'm not one of those full nudity guy's. ME1 was fine it was PG 13 and that's about the age where kids start playing games like this. If they went back to that I'd be happy but if they stay with whatever they're calling this it's fine.
