 For example, Shepard has:

 Lv1-Lv20 = 2 points per level
 Lv21-Lv30 = 1 point per level

 The way squad mates gain talent points seems really irregular. Does anybody know when they gain talent points? I keep messing up my squad mates talents because they never seem to have enough points, I'm on my 3rd playthrough this time and want to get it right.

 Also is it right that Miranda and Jacob get 31 points in total (2 to start, 1 for bonus power, 28 from levelling) and everyone else gets 30 (1 to start, 1 for bonus power, 28 from levelling).

 I've just gone to Tuchanka and have Grunt in my party for the first time this playthough and it looks like he should have enough points for 3 maxed talents and 1 at rank 1 (level 19 at the moment), but I'm sure that on my last playthrough he only had 30 points in total.

I think they get 1 per lvl.

Can't be because some levels they don't seem to get any at all and my squad mates have 22 points from levelling at level 19.

it seems like the rest of the party gets a squad point or 2 at the end of the mission when you see the mission accomplished screen.
