Anyone else die numerous times in the Redcliffe battle?  Those damn things kept coming out of nowhere!  Did anyone pull it off without Wynne?  I don't think there was anyway I could have done it without her.  I had to revive two party members during the battle to get it done.

During the second part, I stayed on the hill and pulled small groups with morrigan. Cheap but it works.

Surviving isn't so hard, it's preventing the militia from getting massacred that's tough.

And don't even get me started about the !#%! retarded thugs/templars charging into the fire...

I'm pretty sure there's something bugged about that mission. It's just absurd compared to most others. There's way too many undead to keep the guys down at the middle of the town alive.

Died one or two times on it, using Morrigan. I somehow managed to miss recruiting Wynne, though I talked to her. =x Whoops.

Oh, and about the npc's dying, funny thing. The times I died the npc's were dying like flies, the time I did it right a majority of them were still alive at the end. Go tactics!

I only had the party wipe once. I think it was while I was on the last wave too. When Alistair went down, that's when things went downhill. My party was in the thick of it the entire time though.

After reloading, I just made sure to block out the enemies better. I think only two militia men died. The previous time, they got to one of the named NPCs rather early on.

Oh, this has been the only battle that I've gotten a complete party wipe out so far.

My main character laid down two AOEs that last a while, I did those at choke points and it helped immensely. I almost had to go from nightmare to hard. But in the end the only party person left standing was Shale.

Mm what difficutly are you guys playing on? I'm on hard and I'm playing as a warrior. At the time I didn't have Wynne and Morrigan came with a bunch of tier 1 talents rather than anything that useful. She didn't even have cone of cold so I didn't have the ability to really stop them from swarming.

Playing on hard as well. My party consisted of PC mage, with Cone of Cold, ;) and then Alistair, Morrigan, and Leliana. Leliana's bow talents helped out a lot to chip down on their defense. Morrigan could at least stun and use some tier 1 talents.

I did something similar...just kept drawing enemies away, up to the top of the hill repeatedly until they were vanquished. The militia got destroyed, though.

I played this one last night. Insane - had morrigan, sten, and alistair. Did pretty well, but once the whole militia died and I was out of pots, I only had Alistair left. I trained about 8 of the skeletons back up to the templars and ran around them in circles until they killed off the rest of the undead :)

No, you just have to sweep out the stragglers after the waves stop.

Played on normal on the XBox, as a mage with Heal.

Fire akes them down quick. Several would charge down the same path, and a fireball spell would pretty much destroy them after they burned a bit. After flaming them, I ran around and healed from time to time. Fire is the key. Fireball, flame blast, heal. Repeat.

It was a long battle, but not difficult.

Well, if
(1) you're not a mage, and
(2) you've picked *neither* Cone of Cold *nor* Heal for Morrigan

then you're in for some hurting.  ;)
