Oh, and about the npc's dying, funny thing. The times I died the npc's were dying like flies, the time I did it right a majority of them were still alive at the end. Go tactics!

After reloading, I just made sure to block out the enemies better. I think only two militia men died. The previous time, they got to one of the named NPCs rather early on.
Oh, this has been the only battle that I've gotten a complete party wipe out so far.

lol. I agree that these sort of topics should be placed in the correct section.
Mm what difficutly are you guys playing on? I'm on hard and I'm playing
as a warrior. At the time I didn't have Wynne and Morrigan came with a
bunch of tier 1 talents rather than anything that useful. She didn't
even have cone of cold so I didn't have the ability to really stop them
from swarming.
Playing on hard as well. My party consisted of PC mage, with Cone of Cold,

During the second part, I stayed on the hill and pulled small groups with morrigan. Cheap but it works.
I did something similar...just kept drawing enemies away, up to the top of the hill repeatedly until they were vanquished. The militia got destroyed, though.

No, you just have to sweep out the stragglers after the waves stop.

Fire akes them down quick. Several would charge down the same path, and a fireball spell would pretty much destroy them after they burned a bit. After flaming them, I ran around and healed from time to time. Fire is the key. Fireball, flame blast, heal. Repeat.
It was a long battle, but not difficult.

(1) you're not a mage, and
(2) you've picked *neither* Cone of Cold *nor* Heal for Morrigan
then you're in for some hurting.
