Is there a way i can change missions? I am on Zaeed's loyalty mission and I don't want to complete it right now. Is there a way I can go back onto the normandy midway through this mission. I have no other saves...
How to change missions??

Nope, you can't. No matter how many times you die, the game won't just send you back to the Normandy. You're stuck with it.

to avoid this make a save that you will not overwrite on the ship and then do missions.

the thing about that is, time only matters in one part of the game. they made a few mission where time would matter but you got all the time you need to do them.
also, do the mission and stick to using the convo options for either para or ren. if you wait to long there will be an error when you need to use them and on his mission if you pick the ren options near the start but dont follow through you cant use the para persuade option at the end
side note: para/ren persuade are the text on the left and when i talk about just para/ren options im taking about the text on the right.

its not about being difficult, if you are not able to finish a mission you started and it already auto saved you are stuck there till you find a way to beat it.
when i first played insanity the first time i did a mission with 3 heavy mechs on it and i ended up getting owned so i reloaded to a save i had back on the ship to avoid doing the mission till i have some upgrades.

Just save to a new savegame each time you get to the Normandy. Like Sphaerus said, it would make little sense to abandon it before it's complete. But if they do get to do it sometime in the future, it should fail and you shouldn't be able to re-do it.

yes, i did his mission as soon as i finished on omega (i was going para) and i was able to talk him into being my bestest best friend XD
just use para options all the way through and use the para interupt.. not sure if it helps but its funny.
