I expected insanity to be extremely hard.

I was wrong.

I found only two tough spots in insanity
+ Horizon Praetorian Fight
+ Collector Ship Harbinger Spammage

Anyone else find the hardest difficulty to be trivial?Posted Image

Well, of course it is easy, why did you expect it to be hard? Regenerating health = game cannot be possibly really hard

How about the shutters at the Garrus mission? That was some hard stuff.

Other than that, no, the game was not very difficult, just long.

Judging by the first game, did you think it was going to be hard?

What class did you play it on? If Sentinal or Infiltrator, lol, then you were playing on "easy" mode, whether on insanity or not.

If you're talking about a vanguard playthrough, then color me impressed.

Insanity is easy for some folks, and impossible for others. This is nothing new.

All depends on how you play. If you play efficient-like using the game mechanics you will have an easy time. If you just run around, using little cover and not beeing very carefull etc you will have a hard time. Its mostly not a matter of player skill. This is not a shooter where you need godlike reflexes and be able to headshot a pixel a mile away with a pistol. Its simply a matter of HOW you choose to play.

Regenerating health/shields + cover system + enemy AI generally letting you sit behind cover until health+shields come back up.
It's a combination of things not just the regen - though in ME 3 I'd definitely like to see the regeneration removed or toned it way down, but the cover system also needs work, TBH I don't think we even need a cover button, just give us crouch back.

yeah,  I remember trying a few times with sentinel and infiltrator there,  but then I made it through with my engineer no problem at all.    a drone that distract enemy so you can close the shutter helps a ton.   I'd imagine an adept with singularity can do the same as well.

Insanity was no measure of skill, only patience.

Nothing is hard.. it just requires to think and use your tactics better if you dont' want to die every 30 seconds.

about 5 hours into insanity with a NG+ shepard i though i was never going to finish it. it was damn hard. it took me forever to get past some parts. im playing a sentinel and i was dieng left and right. i quit playing and started an infiltrator to do a NG+ thinking thatd be easier on insanity, but i went back to the sentinel after about 20 hours with the infiltrato, and now im having no problems at all getting through insanity. i guess i just had to learn the game mechanics better. i was dreading horizon and the collectors since i died so much before, but i just beat it without dieing or really even comming close to dieing. beating insanity is tough, if you get enough practice you wont have troubles. now its kindof a let down becasue insanity scared me.

If you were doing a lvl 30 insanity, and it was your first time, the vorcha flamethrowers had to be hard. screw you if you didn't think so.

It is all a matter of patience and perhaps logic. I've rushed out of cover as an Infiltrator to finish off an enemy with melee. With other enemies shooting at me, I obviously didn't survive long. And getting caught by a flamethrower in that situation means death. I suppose staying in cover and sensibly picking off your targets is how you make it through Insanity. That's what I've found, at least.

I found it really easy too... after reading forums posts I expected something hard. I kept checking to make sure it didn't go down to hardcore or something by accident :P

Yeah I played new game+ as vanguard and it was easy too. Except for those parts you outlined and anything with damm flame throwers that bum rush you. Other than that it was easy.

I had quite a few rough spots, but these days that's about it. It's zounds more challenging than ME1, though, and probably more challenging than the past five Bioware games.
