I entered the fade and made a deal with the Demon however I have the Lifedrinker amulet and can't wear it.  Do I have to be an AW or a certain level to be a Blood Mage and yes that is my character...TIA

You need to be lvl 7 to choose your first specialization and you have to choose the Specialization (located above your attributes) on level up.

I am L11 but have no points alloted to specialization so I can't select blood mage???

If you've selected blood mage as your specialization, the game should consider you a blood mage whether you have put any points into the specialization or not. Are you sure you did so, and didn't choose one of the other specializations at level 7? If you did, you'll have to reload or wait til level 14 when you get your 2nd specialization.

You unlocked blood mage, but until you choose it as a specialization, you're not a blood mage.

So, I'm not trying to insult your intelligence but given that I went through my entire first game without figuring out how to choose specializations... You see the place, on the lefthand side of your first level screen (next to the attributes) where you click on a specialization, right? Blood Mage is highlighted there?



Wow, I just admitted how stupid I was on my first character. She was a total disaster. It's a wonder Ferelden isn't a heap of ashes. LOL

OK, here it goes.  Until you level up, you won't be able to choose a specialization be it bloodmage or anything else.  When you level up, the first thing you will see are the four possible specializations of your class and a little number (usually zero or one) which indicates how many specializations you may choose.  Any specs you have already chosen have a box around them.  You can skip past this screen without choosing any specializations (and you must if you haven't unlocked any yet), but you also can click on the appropriate spec (in this case blood mage) to select it if the number is greater than zero and IF you are doing so as part of a level-up.

You get a specialization point @ level 7 and 14. I'm guessing you already picked your 1st specialization, so you need to wait till level 14 for your next one.
