You have a point here!

I am 100% satisfied and I can say Dragon Age introduced me to a new world of adventure that only Tolkien with Lord of the Ring, Bilbo and all that in it has satisfied me. I believe Dragon Age can come far if keeped up like this, it is -- not one of the -- but THE favorite RPG game for me.

Oh, the irony.

Though, I aint going to start another arguement upon this, neither care whoever quotes me.

Thanks Bioware,

you have blessed us with another great game.

I except the sadness of no DLC items for Awakening (I really loved the Warden Commander armor and Duncan's weapons), and the romance, which I actually think is not so needed. I got my faith in you to make Awakening even greater of a story than the first with even more endless adventures and awesomeness.

More of my opinions (yes folks, you may stop reading here) I love how Oghren is back. Dwarves have been my favorite characters in every game and story. I believe there's lots of more awesome drunkness for Oghren to give us!

Heh, sorry to say this, but this post is ridiculous.
The original post was a whine about whining. The thread could not be whine-free since the whining started in the first sentence of the first post.
And how can you honestly complain about "me me me me me me me, my opinion, my things, my thoughts, my my my mine everything! I am the center of the universe!" when you yourself state that you don't care about responses? If you are only here to post and to hell with the rest, aren't you the worst whining selfish troll of the whole lot?

As for your open letter to Bioware... nah not going to comment. Then I'd really have to get rude.

Rude? You? Oh my, the apocalypse is here, run ;)

On the post, no, they've not blessed me with a game, but I've blessed them with my money, buying a game that they produced with hoping to get people's money. They didn't do it out of the goodness of their hearts, and why should they? They've poured hours and hours of creativity, blood, sweat, and tears (gosh, don't you love mush?) into it, so they deserve my money, which I work very hard for.

It's a symbiotic relationship.

I will never turn into a yes-woman, or a blind worshipper to any name, company, whathaveyou. Constructive criticism is a good thing. It'll help sellers sell more, and buyers will buy more.

What do you think a sales company likes more: People who complain and point out weak spots and faults so they can be fixed, and the product is sold more, or a silent majority who just shrugs and gives the product the cold shoulder, and the company never finds out why?

i'd like to thank bioware for not releasing RTO on ps3. in the exceedingly long wait for said release i've learned two important things: that it has much less overall content than previous dlc, and that its items won't be any use to me in awakenings.

thanks for saving me five bucks, bioware!

You people are fast to pick on the slightiest flawn just to be able to feel better? *sighs*

What I meant is that there are so many negative thoughts, too many. Few people stop to take a breath and let the positive opinions and thoughts out.

And before you jump on me and go "So you think pointing out bad things so the company can get better is a bad thing?" no.. but for once.. it might make someones day to not see so much misery in each post of how bad everything is instead of which things YOU think is GOOD.

Afterall, we pretty much got enough threads pointing out the bad things and flaws within Dragon Age which even I have posted on. But atleast one thread for good thoughts couldn't be the end of the world, could it?

An expected side-effect to bioware being very vague in the FAQ.
Ironically, the FAQ created more questions that it answered.

So all this will stop once someone at Bioware is willign to explain and justify their choices. And with real explanations. Not banal ones like "no romance because you are too busy saving Ferelden."

i second this.....there needs to be more positive feedback. How do you know all corners have been cut how do you know its going to be horrible etc? We have just as much right to thank an give praise as the huge numerous ranting threads have rights to complain. Just because we like it and defend it doesnt make us fanbois as so many like to say. Yet when we call them trolls they get all hugely defensive an act like its justified for them to call us that an yet we have absolutely no ground or right to call them trolls So what say with that said avoid such things is this thread at least hmmm? The amount of ranting negative feedback compared to positive threads is like goliath vs david. I for one despite being dissapointed by some of the faqs will be looking forward to the expansion and more dlc from bioware.

Sincerely
Tresca

p.s. Just sick of all the ranting an whining an complaining and seeing those who are *gasp* supportive shot all to hell like theyre defending hitler or something

Indeed....Thank the Maker!! for.....*scratches her head* ..wait I'll come up with something..just give me a minute. :D

Which I full-heartingly understand, I felt abit of anger and disappointment when I read it aswell. Alot of the good sides from this game is from the romance, which even brings up the most funniest comics. Which I really think is a shame if they should have to end there for full seriousness and action.

Though, I just thought maybe this thread could be free of those arguements. But I guess they are hard to skip :(

Edit: And I also love Tresca's post! I forgot to quote it and bring up a more meaningful way of my first post instead of becoming the whiner myself. But I guess tiredness is no excuse, Image IPB

First of all you're not in Ferelden anymore. Secondly they stated fully the reasons why there are no romances.  Its not a full game title, its an expansion, it is not as long. I wanted romances as much as anyone, but Bioware felt there is not enough time involved to develop a lengthy and deepening romance without it feeling "cheap".

So just for the record, yeah, everyone crying for romances in this expansion is crying to have the game watered down and cheapened to sate their hunger for a virtual relationship. When did the game lose sight of being a hero (in one form or another), to simply become a dating game?

Indeed, that too. That is what I thought aswell that they might not actually have the time to add it in the expansion and they need to release it as fast as possible to fully continue/end the story in time before maybe working on Dragon Age 2.

I keep thinking Dragon Age Origin was merely an introduction to the story of how the world of Thedas looks like, atleast a part of it, and that it was a test from Bioware if they could manage with another RPG and how successful it would be. Maybe some things of the story continue from there, but I believe Awakening is the REAL start of the story. Afterall, it coops up with the books and especially the Calling with the Architect and story of Utha, First Enchanter and Duncan himself which is where I believe we will see far more of him in Awakening. Atleast hopefully.

Anyway, as I said, I believe Awakening is the beginning of the true story of Dragon Age and that we can probably expect Dragon Age 2 or something continuing from there with the romance and all back in the game.

Amaranthine is in Ferelden.

Oh, so ressurecting a dead warden  is not cheap, but having a short romance is. I am not asking for the romances to be as developped as the one's in DA:O, that's obviously impossible. But it's not impossible to create a meaningful romance in a short story. Bioware did say their new characters are very deep and complex, someone went as far as to say they are more compex then those in DA:O. So how come they can't make a romance feel not cheap?

Your last "argument" is not really worth anyone's time.

Okay I am mystified...how did roleplaying a romance or two in a game suddenly become a dating game?

If it has..my hubby won't be pleased with that at all. rofl!!

I think sometimes that exaggeration does more harm to the point you are trying to put across than just shooting straight from the hip. :)

I don't consider blatant hypocrisy to be a slight flaw.

I don't consider an insulting post that accuses people of whining to be positive.

You come in here pissing on other people's opinions out of some misguided sense of superiority and you expect not to get called out on it?

Here's a little suggestion for you and the OP. If you want a thread of positive comments, don't **** about negative comments, and don't accuse people of being selfish whiners. It is not a very positive attitude.

Didn't you get the memo? Amaranthine is in Orlais now. Rendon Howe, the arl of Amaranthine, was an orlesian nobleman, send as an ambassador to king Cailan's court by empres Celine. He became quite famous around the bannorn for the exquisit balls at his estate and the small spherical chocolate treats he would offer during these occasions. It was his orlesian blood that made Loghain immediatly trust him an appoint him his right hand man.

On a serious note. Because people want more positivity.

Here is bundled positivity that no praise-thread can ever reach:

David Gaider's thread about kinbari's work

The Fanart thread

Nine (9) pages of threads in the Community Creations section of the forum

4246 threads in the Dragon Age Toolset section of the forum and 1255 entries in the Project listings

That is positive feedback. That is support of Dragon Age and showing love for the game.
Not some blind hero-worship of a company and self-righteous crusade against the "whiners".

I can almost hear the violins...

Lemme paraphrase the OP:
"thank you bioware for making decision that happen to appease to ME (not really, but I'll make it so in order to be fanboyish), and screw everyone else".

The funny part is that the people who complain are actual fans that demonstrated it over and over in many threads, and that are rightfully displeased by seeing Bioware drop the ball completely and cutting corners with their favourite franchise.

Heh, those are surely nice ones. Guess I'll move back to them and lurk there.

On another note: Aren't Amaranthine a part of Ferelden even though? Seeing as Arl Howe was given it as an Ambassador and Anora/Alistair was able to give the Grey Wardens it despite anything spoken to the Orlais.

Just my thought. Atleast Amaranthine would be a part of Ferelden now being given it to the Grey Wardens of Ferelden, not Orlais.

I guess if you are either too young to remember them or live in a country these weren't aired on tv, the sarcasm would be a little less obvious
