I just installed a new video card (went from a GeForce 8600 to ATI 5770) in my computer. Now when I try to start DA it requests activation and account info. When I input the correct account and activation code I get a message that the activation code is already in use!?
Any suggestions?
New video card now activation not recognized

Still no word from EA/Bioware support. This has been my only disappointment with Bioware and DA!
I believe in paying for what you use, but the friends who offered me a pirated copy of DA are snickering now!!
Be warned that if you make a significant change to your computer and have a digital version of a EA/Bioware game expect to be screwed.

You will need to log in the same account as you used before in game itself.
You need to use the same email adress as when you redeemed the code for the first time!

This is my problem.
I have been playing DA for several months on this computer. I upgraded a video card and suddenly when I try to play DA it requests I "activate" the game.
I log in with the correct email account and password. I then get a message requesting the activation key. When I input the correct activation key I get a message that the activation key has already been used?! Of course it has, I used it to activate DA on this same computer two months ago!!!!
It has been two days since I left e-mail with EA/Bioware with no reply (they promise to respond within 24 hours).
Perhaps an uninstall and fresh install might work?

how did you redeem the code before?
did you do that via website or via ingame?
if you did it ingame then it should have redirected you to web page then you should log in with the same email adress as what you used to to log in the game and redeem the code. then go back ingame log in and it should immediately see that the account you use has new content availible.
if for any reason you need to reinstall the game. what you need to do is install game, log in your bioware account in game then goto downloadable content. in second tab youll see all the content availible for that account.
Check in your profile online. look in "Profile" then in "My registered game promotions". all the activated content for that profile should be visible there.
So the main question is are you sure you used the same email adres when you redeemed code?
I'm not even sure if you can redeem a code if you dont have DA:origin registered on an account. I don't see reason why this should be blocked though. Well lets hope a DM can clarify this. I highly doubt there is an activation required when you switch hardware.

The DLC is not the problem (yet). The game will not even let me get to a start up screen where the DLC can be checked.
I get as far as the opening screen that has links for support, configure, uninstall, documentation, play, etc. When I click on "play" then the requests for activation start. The activation prompts do not direct me to a web page (yes, it did do that when I installed the program several months ago).
I even disconnecting my pc from the internet and tried to start the game with no success.
The problem seems to be on the EA/Bioware account management side of things, of which I have no control.
I can appreciate the attempts to prevent pirating and I am willing to let the company handle the authorization for play, BUT if they are going to do this then the customer service should be right on any problem. Instead, they have left a customer unable to use a product for several days that he has paid for in good faith! My future purchases from EA/Bioware are definitely being reconsidered!!

Since you changed your video card it probably now appears to the activation server as a different "computer". There's no real limit on number of computers you can be installed on with the Digital Version (just don't try installing it on more than 5 computers per day.), but you likely have to uninstall and reinstall for it work.

A great many other game players have done the same thing without any similar problem. The error isn't likely to be related in any way to the new video card.Edge12674 wrote...

EA's promise to get back to you was 48 hours last time I was there, but it took them 96 plus or minus on each of my eMailed requests for support (on this game, last November).
Has it been longer than 96 hours yet?
You do realize that you are asking about a SITE problem, not a GAME probklem, right? There is a separate Help Forum for SITE problems.

Thanks for all the replies! I was able to resolve the issue by going to http://support.ea.com/chat
This required a 15 minute wait, but is much preferable to the e-mail method. The issue was a SITE problem controllable only by EA. They issued a new activation key which seemed to fix the problem.
On a side note, when I changed video card and was removing the old Nvidea drivers I deleted the physXloader and another nvid.dll. These files are needed to run DA, so I had to uninstall and install the program again. If you change the video card don't get too carried away deleting anything that looks like it is Nvidea related!

I'm having the same issue you did: New video card and I can't get past the activation screen because it's telling me "can't activate with that account" (I used the exact same login as always) and asking for the key. Then when I enter the key it says it's already in use. Now I get to sit and wait half an hour to chat with a support person
What a pain in the a**!!

I had the same issue when I changed from a NVIDIA to an ATI card. I had to reinstall the "physXloader" and some other .dll file it said was missing. Then I just had to put my account info back in and it worked well. And on another note, my game runs MUCH better with the ATI card compared to the NVIDIA one, lol.

It's weird, though. I was just troubleshooting a video issue so I swapped cards with my husband, then swapped back, so I technically didn't change the card at all. Odd,huh? Either way, I got it worked out with a support person the same way the OP did - they gave me a new key to enter and it was fine.
