How the heck do you survive in cold vaccum with just a mouth breather?
And before anyone says shields, what happens when the personal shields break? Even a few moments of exposure would be enough to take out most people.

It actually takes 2 minutes according to scientists for you to die without a spacesuit in space.Delta Green wrote...

Don't be taken in by hollywood's exploding people in a vacuum. Its fake like having sound in a space battle, no air=no sound.

So that's why Cerberus resurrected Shepard. They needed someone who could get the job done in less than two minutes!truedark wrote...

Well I guess we should just shut down the forums now shouldn't we?
The guy was asking if Bioware perhaps provided some canonical explanation for why it was possible, like their explanation for Thermal clips, their explanation for everyone speaking English (translators built into the clothing), among other things.
Saying "It's a game" is a boring explanation, if so why bother have people wear helmets/facemasks?

But all those things have in-game explanations. This on the other hand does not.

Mass Effect 1 was a game, and they still managed to have every character in appropriate clothing.charliekrad wrote...

If it bothers you that much, you can take Tali and Garrus with you to those planets. 'Mass Effect 1' veterns apparently dress more sensibly than their 'ME 2' compatriots. Well, except for Garrus' busted ass armour.

(look up the space activity suit for details)
Having just a gasmask is really pushing it, though. Which is why I took the characters who don't do that with me.
