So I raced through Baldur's Gate in anticipation

Damn, I've just finished Baldur's Gate 2 again, but there's still about three weeks to go.

Baldur's Gate
Baldur's Gate 2 (2x in a row, and not rushing)
Mass Effect (2x, but further apart between plays)
I'm also considering replaying Jade Empire, but I've got work to catch up on... Urgh....

My biggest hope for DA:O is that it gives the same depth and replayability.

Back on topic… I just finished my 6th ME playthrough but am currently dabbling in some RTS's. I wouldn't start a new playthrough of any of the old RPG's though, because I hate to leave one half-finished when I rush back to DA:O.

Baldur's Gate 2 was cursed, never actually played it. For some reason it wouldn't run on my PC at the time. Now, 4 PCs and months of emails to tech support later, it still won't run. It's cursed.

Mass Effect: I sadly don't own this. I've borrowed it and played it at the SO's house but am still needing a copy of my own. I fail as a Bioware fangirl *hangs head in shame*

BG + BG2 a la BGT: I would but I'd have to reinstall all my mods. That takes quite a while.

don't worry. Mass Effect is good and all, but far from Bioware's best game. BG1 and 2 are better.

Fulgrim, sprechtst du Deutsch? I've been trying to learn for the past couple years. Sort of a 'get-in-touch-with-your-roots' thing. Also, it's the perfect language for Dwarves.

Anyway, feel free to pm me if you need any help with that 'back-to-the-roots'-thing of yours;)

I was wondering the same thing, actually. Your English is quite good really, but you slipped and put an "oder" in your post. While Ich habe zu viel Wortschatz vergessen, I remember enough to recognize "or" in German.

Er.. I didn't rush through it, all I meant was I had completed it far sooner than anticipated.Servant of Nature wrote...
You're doing yourself a disservice by rushing the games, in my opinion, but whatever works for you.

After that, I play through Baldur's Gate 2 and Fallout 1. It was ... err ... six months ago. Now I'm playing The Longest Journey and reading a pile of books I've been so neglecting all those years.

The Longest Journey is such an amazing game. Equal to BG2 imo, though they're different games. Has a lot of great things going for it like bg2 had. Amazing story, great writing, great characters, amazing VO (and it's fully voiced).Johohoho.Ehehehe wrote...
I played Planescape: Torment and it is always difficult afterwards - there isn't simply a game even close as good. I mean the story, character and atmosphere.

If anybody else has a thing for point and click adventures I recommend playing through The Longest Journey. Can be had on Steam for 10$ I think.
