Don't play insanity then. If everyone could do it, then it wouldn't be hard enough.

Same here i am a soldier on insanity.

I regularly use all squad powers especially the bot for tali and legion which I found very useful in forcing enemies out of cover for a sniper attack.

The most powerful weapon is without a doubt the arc cannon, I once used it to wipe out 6 husks on the Reaper IFF mission.

To make the game easier carefully select what squadmates you have. I highly recommend when fighting collectors mordin as he has freeze/fire attacks and someone who can disable shields.

Use Incendiary/warp ammo for all collector/bluesuns and for geth the tech one (forgot what its called)

I only used the cain once and immediately never used it again. Its impossible to aim at anyone without getting cut down.

I also found some of my squadmates to be incredibly thick! on insanity. Zaeed decided not to shoot at all and go somewhere else to sit around and legion can't use a door which is not helpful at all.

The hardest mission for me is the collector ship followed by collecting the smuggled cargo as the bots are F"£%$ing hard to destroy. I don't care what anyone else says they are!

For insanity, do you guys start a new character (ME1 Import) or pick a pre-leveled ME2 character? I started a ME1 Port Soldier but I'm not too fond of the class.

pfffftttt insanity

first playthrough for me was veteran, pretty simple died a few times

then played hardcore, quite challenging. After 1 week of hardcore, moved on to insanity and now I can play insanity on all classes but vanguard

just try insanity with vanguard, just try.

Actually playing insanity NG + with vangaurd now, it's not too bad, keeps you on your toes though.

I tried Vanguard on Hardcore and could never get completely used to my awesome biotic powers.  I had inferno ammo and some awesome biotic suicide ability.  I'd press the button and WHOOOSH!  I'd fly out of cover as an iredescent blue light and instantly appear in front of the Ymir Heavy Mech so it could eat my lunch.

What's up with that whole suicide power? I mean what's the point really?

I actually managed to get my Insanity achievement with infiltrator but Vanguard always intrigued me.  Biotic charge + Punch to the face + inferno shotty blast is pretty awesome when it works!   Posted Image

Usually when I play different classes, and I go back to vangaurd I have to die a handful of times before I get back into the flow( it's a rhythm thing I guess) but what can I say, ...BALLS TO THE WALL!!!!!! THE VANGAURD WAY. Posted Image

I must say I was very worried playing on Insanity for my last achievement. But it's been relatively easy with Infiltrator. I died on Horizon only once when I took cover too near a Harbinger. I died twice on the Collector ship, one of the times due to my controller dying when I was on the platforms. The other time, I died being impatient with the Pretorian.

Assassination cloak + Warp Ammo + Widow = Collector meat.

That's exactly how I got through insanity. Assasin sloak + Warp Ammo + Widow.  Totally agree it's the class if you absolutely must have your insanity achievement. Collector threat indeed!

Insanity is frustrating but it's mostly an excersize in patience rather than actually being "impossibly hard" ... I usually do NG+ and once I adjust to having to upgrade all my powers again I don't really have any problems.

Note: I don't have leet skills ... I just know how to be patient.

A lot of it is familiarity, as cliche as this is going to sound, I'll say it anyway, "the more you play on insanity the better you'll get at it".

Charge is not meant to be use foolhardily.  Charging smack into a powerful opponent without any guarantee of taking it out quickly and surviving til the next charge is not the way to go.  What you did WAS suicide - as many experienced Insanity Vanguard players would agree with.

It would be good if you read up on Vanguard guides stickied @  Mass Effect 2 Characters, classes and Builds

Quoted from thisisme8's Vanguard tip and tricks on Hardcore/Insanity: "Take the YMIR Mechs from cover.  Sometimes you just don't Charge in."

It wasn't that bad. Try God of War 3 on Titan mode. That's a challenge, and if you struggle with that don't even think about chaos mode. It will break your spirit.

I just completed the game on insanity with no squadmates dead and my entire crew alive!!

Bet anyone can't beat that!!!

To get your squadmates to do what you want use the Q/E buttons to put them in front of you and the enemy.

Make sure you use arc cannon to take out husks etc...

Use heightened adrenaline rush and sniper gun

I however have not been able to pursue a relationship with any squadmates yet awell...

Insanity is easy all you have to do is use your attacks to tear them apar I AM ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL Insanity couldn't survive the zerg swarm

Insanity Checklist: couple of packs of Newports, some coffee, a lot of free time, Rogain, and the Infiltrator class (preferably imported).

Now "Insanity+", should be called the 'ridiculous sharp pain in my ******' difficulty instead. Honestly took some much joy out of playing ME2 that I had to take a week n a half long break from it.

Just finished the first loyalty mission (Kasumi's) on my experimental Insanity run (to see how far I get before I lose patience).

Ok so far, can be done, but these Ymir mechs are incredibly tedious. Enemy Vanguards are very dangerous, but that's probably because I'm an Engineer. Died once in the boss fight from I don't know what, but the boss fight wasn't all that difficult.

All in all, if I quit Insanity it probably won't be because I die too often as such, but because repeating 20-minute fights is no fun, and taking down Ymir mechs is too tedious. We'll see.

soldier + revenant (might be a throwback to revan, revan-revenant? nevermind) + AP rounds = ownage

with VG, perhaps the most frustrating class to play on insanity... sometimes playing it cautious works best, sometimes it screws you in the end and you really should be playing more aggressively to end battles more quickly

one of the most peculiar class i ever played in any game

yeah, the vanguard can be frustrating, but also i think it's the most fun. definitely,  i wouldn't recommend  it for a first insanity run.

i don't know, i think the esiest is the adept.

Thank god I thought it was just me I hate the Ymir mechs on all difficulties, they are far too powerful especially on the collect smuggler cargo mission. Which is the hardest mission!!

It's not crazy. It's lazy. No thought went into it. Somebody at Bioware just sat back and dialed enemy stats up and squad stats down, which of course ends up breaking the game's pace. To fix it, you have to put your own thought into it and start modding, which is maybe how it ought to be. The rewards are that much greater.
