Well, I noticed a PluginManager.dll and a plugins folder.  This of course got the coder in me drooling.  Alas, you didn't use .net for the plugins.  Not that I tried to look using reflector or anything :innocent:  Will any documents be released for coding toolset plugins?

*bump* because I was silly and created this over the weekend when the chance of a Bioware person seeing it was quite small.

I imagine once things settle down abit they will document the plugin manager (if they want to open it up to the community). But right now I imagine they are more focused on getting the installer fixed up for the Toolset and getting the bugs / issues with the main campaign fixed / sorted out. (Like the memory leak)

Oh god, that memory leak is annoying as hell. The necessity of restarting the game very hour breaks it horrendously.

*bump* realize this is a low priority item. It just makes the coder in me twitchy to see a plugin system I can't use ;)

I don't think bumping this is going to generate any response whatsoever. BioWare may (or may not) document the plugin system at some point in the future, abut they have not made any statements regarding that yet, one way or another (as far as I know).

My advice - just wait a few months.

This was one of the things I asked BioWare about at the Builders Event because obviously that was one of the better features of the NWN2 toolset.

There is a plugins framework in the toolset (obviously) however it isn't intended for public consumption and it was felt that exposing it to us would actually be any real benefit. It was felt that there was more mileage hooking into the database and doing things that way.

Another avenue open to us is utilities that produce semi-complete xml files that can be zipped up and ingested via the B2B Load. An example would be an external application for writing conversations (just the dialogue no plot, stances, emotions, scripts, etc) which people can use when AFT (away from toolset) and then load in to add all the finishing touches.
