Stature is a social concept relating to respect and prestige.
Anyways:

I think the word you're looking for is statue.

Somehow, I don't think a pair of flying breasts will represent my Male Human Noble very well.

Well...as of the current latest news, there will be no stature as you can no longer import your dead save and start as a new character (where your US is remembered)...as your dead save is now alive woohoooo (sarcastic)...
So no statue for you
Guess we should be celebrating.."Night of the Living Dead" or something?

To be fair, the FAQ doesn't say you can't import a saved game with your character dead. It doesn't answer the question, so unless we hear otherwise, this still might be possible.
You can import a saved game with a dead warden. But you don't get to choose what happens with that saved game. Instead..it is assumed that instead of the Ultimate Sacrifice, your warden somehow, someway, "miraculously" survived.
Thereby negating the hours spent on that run-through and the Ultimate Sacrifice ending.
Other choice is: go play a brand new Orlesian Warden, with no connection ..and possibly no history given as to the original GW's demise and reasons for it. Again US ..is denied, non-existant.
What some of us would like is perhaps clarification in the FAQ ..before Awakening comes along, and we attempt to import our dead character, hoping this information is thus, by cutscene, conversation..or some brief historical blurb ..passed onto the New Orlesian GW.
This is how it was presented early on with the announcement of Awakening, that if our main character died, we could opt for playing the new GW. Now these things don't seem to be mentioned in conjunction with each other.
So for some reason, the Ultimate Sacrifice is being ignored, or whatever.
Thats fine that some wish to play their dead warden..thats up to them. But currently the rest of us..would love a bit of information as to the status of the Ultimate Sacrifice story ending.

.3 – If my PC died at the end of Dragon Age: Origins how are they alive in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening? (Back to top)
If a player wants to, they can import their "Dead Warden" into Awakening and play as them. For the story it's assumed that they didn't make the ultimate sacrifice, instead somehow survived. A player would start as the same level with the same gear as their "Dead Warden". Essentially, if a player doesn't have a problem hand-waiving the story in this regard - neither do we.
This is specifically an answer to a pointed question--Can I play as a dead character.
There is nothing stating that you can't play a new character AND import the choices of a previous character. So, before people panic, let's wait for that to be answered.

And this is a conclusion we have already drawn...we need more clarification, that certain story line endings are not going to be negated, forgotten..or left to dangle.

From same said FAQ:
1.4 – Will there be new Origin Stories in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening? (Back to top)
There are no new origin stories in Awakening. If you create a new character, there is a new background as the "Orlesian Grey Warden". But you do not play a custom origin story; instead the game reacts at various points to your background, sometimes in dramatic ways.
As someone who spends a lot of time reading legal documents, that seems pretty clear to me. Now if I'm wrong, Bioware need to come here and say so, but I feel the removal of the dev post that clearly stated importing your dead warden save resulted in using the new Orlesian Warden is fairly straight forward.

OR, they could say "Ferelden was attacked, and among the many things we lost, there was a statue of a particular hero. Problem is that without the statue, we don't know anything of this hero anymore."

If the statue is anything like the one you get in Oblivion or, heck, like your reflection self in the gauntlet, I think no statue is the better deal. Mis-matched armor, weapons you haven't used since level 5 and the ugliest helm money can buy? Um, pass.
Well..I remember that statue..it wasn't "all that bad"..not perfect, but hey at least they did it.
I have my doubts that we will see one in DA:A.

Or..they could just pretend that end cutscene for the Ultimate Sacrifice never happened, just like the Ultimate Sacrifice never happened. It got "hand waived".
Yeh. You just dreamt it, see? It must've been Morrigan's doing, somehow. It was all a dream, I say. The archdemon knocked you unconscious and you dreamt about your funeral. Yeah. That's it. Must be.
