Hi I started up the game and it went into auto-configuration for the 'first time'.  The problem was that earlier today I was about 40+ hours into the game at the Paragon/Dwarf boss fight in the Deep Tunnels.  Is there anyway to recover my save game data so that I can resume and try and finish this game? 

Please let me know what I can do to get my save file back, I was trying to finish this game before getting into Mass Effect 2 and I am in disbelief in having to start over.

Check your My Documents\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\Characters folder, that's where saves are stored, there's one directory for each character. As long as nothing happened to this folder you should be okay.



I'm not sure what you mean by "auto-configuration" though. Do you still have a "Load Game" option on the main menu?

Yeah I don't see the characters folder at all. I tried system restore and that didn't work either.



It ran the configuration like I just installed the game. There is no load game option only the option to start up a new game. I think the problem was I used CCleaner & some registry to remove an older game and it deleted my Dragon Age and Mass Effect 1 saves. I really enjoyed the game, but I don't know about giving it another 30-40hrs to get to that point again.

what happens if i formaTED MY COMPUTER is there anyway to recover my information, from my character online?

As far as I'm aware, and other users have advised, the forums do not store any of your save games or characters online.
