I am currently on the derelict reaper quest on my Insanity playthrough, inside the reaper core. While I have already completed the game before on veteran with no problems whatsoever, when I entrer the Reaper Core battle, the shields for the core never open. As soon as I regain control after the cutscene they close and never open again. I have seen a topic on Gamespot about this, but in their case the Husks also did not respawn, while mine do. I have already restarted the mission and got all the way back to the core, same problem. is there anything I can do? because I have no saved before this mission, I REALLLY dont want to redo all over.
The Insanity achievement is the last one I need.

update, I randomly ran around avoiding husks for like 3 minutes and then the core opened, at which point I began to shoot at it but caused no damage to it, it didnt even show a health bar. I tried to run around again for 3 minutes to see if it will open, and it did not.

Why don't you try killing the husks instead? On Insanity, I found that the core wouldn't open for me until I'd killed each wave of husks.

Not sure which difficulty I'm on, but on this part the Iris is staying closed for me too. I've tried leaving it alone, tried shooting it... there are no husks so I'm just sitting here bored.
